I'm very excited for the Cardinale Red Wine BA Big Munro, can't say I've ever had a wine barrel aged stout and we have a few coming this year.

Has anyone had the Life or Members Only magnums yet? I need to get up and get mine to split for some playoff football coming up.

I opened the Life on New Years and it was awesome. So much barrel flavor melding together.

I never got an invite to split a bunch of free bottles, so I'm guessing one of us BA members was not the contest winner of the barrel of beer. Money still went to a good cause!

Yeah sorry brother, I was not the winner. I'd certainly be open to a bottle share once this covid spike dies down though.

I'm certainly going to miss being part of the bottle society but i've still got like 4+ boxes of barreled souls to work my way through. Maybe after a year of getting through my backlog, and if i find myself in a better financial situation, i'll try and rejoin.

Check your email. V for Vanilla is being released but not in a box set with a glass this time. Indonesian, Tahitian and Madagascar. I enjoyed the Ugandan and Indonesian last year so I'll be maxing out, again. 2pp ea

I missed these last time, but I just checked untappd and it looks like the last versions were barrel aged and 15.6% and these are non-BA and 11.5%. So seems like very different beers. Have they done them this way before?

The BA versions sound awesome, but BS’s non-BA stouts can be hit or miss for me. Although Stay Puft is great and marshmallow is in the same vein as vanilla.

I did miss the fact they aren't barrel aged. That is a bit disappointing.

I really enjoyed the three Coffee Monster variants (all non-BA). Seems like a similar deal with this iteration of V for Vanilla, so I'm in.

I will be curious to see if I can get differences between the vanillas.
I think it s a cool concept and goos palate developing opportunity.
    Order up!

I might pass on getting more than 1 bottle of the Vanilla only due to maxing out on Make me a Stout, Clown also being released.

Good call, I liked that beer a lot also. It seems like this is similar in ABV and flavor to regular stay puft, which is a winner in my book, so I’m sure I’ll get one of each. The only question is whether to stop there or max out….

Completely agree. The BA Vanillas were outstanding, and I fear a bit of a letdown with the base version.

Had to pass on the Honey Pot mag. I have other ones languishing on my shelfs wondering when the hell I'll ever get around to them. Do you guys ever end up opening these things? I would assume at shares or something? Seems aggressive to solo dome.

Luckily I had a ski trip recently where I could pop the anniversary mag with a larger group. Otherwise I'm only buying a mag if it's not a duplicate of the release, too many other Barreled Souls beers I have to drink in the meantime.

My wife loves barleywine so we’ll split those. Stout mags I have to solo dome. My general approach is to open it when I have a weekend to drink it. Like the last one I opened on Saturday afternoon during our last big snowstorm, then took several pours over two days. It’s manageable that way but definitely a commitment.

I tackled a Life Magnum myself last weekend as I didn't want to wait for a drinking partner. I probably consumed 80% of it. I only bought it as it was mag only and most likely won't purchase one next time around as it's too difficult to find someone to share it with. My friends drink IPAs so they're of no help. Also, Life is really nice.

Picked up last week, had a pour of Life while there. Holy moly, it's fantastic.

Cracked a Make Me a Stout and Parker's BA Bombs, so far. I can't figure out if I like the Clown yet. I swear I remember the first batch with a hint of coconut, but not overwhelming. This new one is very barrel, and very coconut forward. I don't hate coconut, but it's definitely not my go to adjunct. I hope it settles down over time.

Bombs, however, is a home run. Simple, barrel aged barleywine is what these guys do best, in my opinion. Smooth and way too drinkable.

Huh, I thought the MMAS clown from the first run was very coconut forward myself. But I also had it at the Beervana fest locally, which is pastry stout of GTFO so if the new batch is even moreso we'll have to see.

Agree on the Parker's BA Bomb, just outstanding. Have one of these and a double barrel Bomb remaining.
