What's the name of this barleywine? There's nothing in their Instagram feed or story about a BW. Want to know what to look for in case any of the cans make it out into the wilds of distro.

The Barrier BW is Community Not Commodity (or might be the other way around).

Yeah I saw that earlier on the brewery page here, which indicated it was brewed once and had no reviews, so I wasn't sure that was it. Just looked again and saw @guinness77 added it on 1/30. I'm guessing Barrier wouldn't have any left now anyway. When did you guys pick up cans?

I was there yesterday and if I’m not mistaken they still had cans of it there. I had a buddy of mine pick that and BBHCFM up when they were released.

Good to know, but I'm not going near Oceanside any time soon. I'll look in some local shops this weekend, on the outside chance some went out from the brewery.

Drinking my second can of the Barleywine and it is scary how drinkable it is. I finished half the can in 10 minutes. I hope this is revisited!

$20 for a 4-pack of an IPA? Um, ok

Meanwhile Imposter, Icculus are $10 and Rembrandt is $12 - and that's all fine with me.
I see these $20/4pk IPAs as a necessary evil to fund the other beers. Seems like the pastry stout/IPA drinkers are willing to pay the price.

Grabbed a 4 of Classic yesterday for $12. That is a steal and the normal price. I actually like it better than the original Beech St. Don’t sleep on it.

I bought a little over a case at Barrier a few days ago but I missed that one - how is it different than a typical wit beer?
I was sure happy to buy a bunch of the black IPA at $8/pk, brings back the Oil City days.
I'm hoping for Simple to return sometime soon.

It’s essentially Beech Street 2.0. Very traditional belgian wheat/wit.

It's not an IPA it's a MIPA and obviously the M stands for moola.

Just pointing this out because @ecpho is a touch () sensitive about such things - The label for Classic states: "A new take on a classic recipe... northeastern white ale." If Barrier wasn't going for a bit of a NEIPA influence, then they picked their words poorly. Personally, I got some of that influence when I drank it... but my mind was directed to go there.

So a northeastern white ale means it's a bit hazy - like a good white ale should be?

I posted about this beer on New Beer Sunday and mentioned: "One would guess that this is gonna be a NEIPA inspired witbier. There's some synergy there since earlier craft witbiers supposedly struggled at first due to their cloudy appearance being a break from expectations." You can see that I didn't care for it, but I only had it once. Don't take my word for it. Maybe I'd really like it if I gave it a second chance.

Oh now I see the Blood Orange - no thanks. Doesn't work for me in beer. Bring back Beech St!

Thinking bout making the trek tmr for the first time. Anyone know if the BeerMenus cans-to-go list from 7/10 is still accurate?

Their IG page is the best way to get information but I don’t see any reason why that list wouldn’t be accurate. Their cans usually last awhile.
