Hope this makes it way up to Cable Beverage or Growler and Gill. They got Money and Imposter not too long ago. So would like to try this.

So this Saturday, was planning on bringing a couple friends and doing a brewery tour of LI on our way out to the North Fork. First stop was going to be Barrier at 12 PM - read through the thread and didn't see much about the releases other than that there was a line of 50 people for the OH/Barrier collab.

For anyone that's been for bottle releases, is that typical? And do they run it straight out of the tap room? I have no problem getting bottles elsewhere and was thinking of skipping it or going later if the tap room is going to be overrun with people buying bottles and hanging out for a couple beers afterward at the noon open.

Seems like a decent amount. Just went back and got another for the weekend and also a bottle of Suburbs IPA.

Bottles are usually not sold directly in the taproom on the day of release. Shouldnt be too crowded. Definitely go.

Thanks for the info guys, ended up going at 12 on the dot and it wasn't crowded at all. Even got spots at the bar, they did the bottles on the side and ran it pretty efficiently. Was never a line or anything, just people coming and going.

This batch of Suburbs is really good.

Despite having their beers on draft throughout the city, finally made it out to the brewery over the weekend. Quite enjoyed the visit. Enjoyed Money at the source, and got a flight of Citra Hops Hill (which I really enjoyed), Non-Cents, Fantastical, Copernicus on nitro, and the Evil Giant Rye IPA. Suburbs had kicked earlier in the day. But looking forward to trying this batch of Suburbs and Daddy Warbucks from the bottles I walked away with.

Fantastical and Copernicus would be my favorites out of those. I don't know why Fantastical is called an IPA now. Glad to see that Copernicus is still in the rotation. Wish it was available for fills more often. Newburgh is my only other true cream ale option.

This Saturday @barrier_brewing_co 12pm we'll be debuting/releasing "Satan For A Weekend" - an 11.7% Imperial IPA bursting with Azacca, Waimea, & Dr Rudi hops. The description says it all for this one...$9/500mL. Limit of 6 per person. ***Available only at the Brewery***

I grabbed some Fantastical. To me, I think it's best box is American IPA, but I can see why there isn't a clear choice. It's a unique beer - unlike other IPAs. Apparently, the hops used are Azacca and El Dorado and the beermenus description calls it "super juicy." I didn't think "super juicy" when I drank it. If anything, I was thinking that it was like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale with more alcohol... but maybe I'm way off. Regardless, I thought it was a dangerous beer. Goes down easy for the ABV. I grabbed it because of your thumbs up and I'm very glad I did.

Grabbed a bottle of Daddy Warbucks for $9.50 at Covenhoven last night. A tad bit syrupy on the mouthfeel but the aroma and flavor were poppin' hard. Glad to see the bottles are starting to dial-in, everything I've had recently has been fantastic.

It is a really interesting beer (no one else will care b/c its not imperial mosaic whatever but . . )
My first impression was of an English pale ale and it was labelled that where I had it. but later tastings it was more of a really great pale ale but not overly hopped into the IPA territory. A touch of sweetness but still really drinkable. Not super juicy at all I think - which is fine for me - I don't like juicy IPA/PA. I've been down on Barrier for abandoning some old classics and making more IPAs lately but this IPA/non IPA is great. I got 2 growlers last week at the East Meadow beverage barn - buy one get second at half price with coupon.

You should try grabbing a Neshaminy Croydon Cream Ale sixpack.

Haha great year in sports for me being in my mid 20s. Mets make the world series after years of futility and the Isles win a playoff round for the first time since I was 4. Die hard fan of both teams. Needless to say, I was extremely late and hungover at work Monday.

Now if only the Jets could...do anything.

As for this beer - I have high expectations and cannot wait to try it. I'm assuming it's being released at Barrier and Carton tomorrow (wont know bout Carton until tomorrow afternoon but if I was a local to Carton I'd put money on it).

S.S. Cream ended up being release at both Barrier and Carton. They must have done a double batch, because there is a shit ton of it.

Money is arguably the best IPA made in Nassau and Suffolk County. There has definitely been variation from draught and bottle iterations, but it seems to be getting better. I was excited to grab Daddy Warbucks, and it hasn't disappointed. I don't find it syrupy at all. Huge tropical and floral nose. More orange and guava to the front of the palate and it finishes clean. Can't really go wrong with it.
