Bumping this thread because the latest batch of Money bottles might be the best I've ever had. Super juicy, and hazier than I remember it ever being. No carbonation issues at all. Great IPA.

Money very good beer, seems to vary from batch to batch, thanks for heads-up, will check out this batch.

Any thoughts on Oaked Atypical? I avoided it for the longest time because oak makes me think of buttery California Chardonnay, which makes me want to puke.
But in Atypical it really intensified the dank herbal taste I look for in IPAs. Will buy more when I see it.

Also Dunegrass is back, great news.
Glad to see Mars Zen after a year's absence. Maybe some of the older beers are finally coming back.

Drinking an Oak Aged Atypical...wow, much better than I remember it being. This doesn't rival Cigar City, I think it's better, and I like oak aged Jai Alai.

I was surprised about it too - I avoid oaked anything but it was great. I really like base Atypical so that helps.

Money in cans is a little softer than usual, missing some of that dank bite. They've changed the recipe quite a bit over the last year, it's a really hazy fruit bomb now.

Either way it's good and I'm glad they are finally canning.

I never got excited about Money compared to some of their other IPAs but "hazy fruit bomb" sounds absolutely terrible to me. I thought they generally resisted those trends, that's kind of their signature.

I would say it still retains its main base, just the SLM has changed and maybe an adjustment on the dry hop. It does taste a little different, but it definitely has the underlying Money character to it. I for one am really enjoying this release. All in all, it tastes like a Barrier IPA and I'm totally fine with that. By that, I mean it doesn't taste like OJ.

Don't get me wrong, it's not Tree House fruit bomb, but for Barrier it's definitely different for them.

Money has always been the one beer they play with to align with the IPA trend. That's actually how it got it's name, they made the typical Citra driven IPA everyone kept asking for in order to make money.

Interesting - makes sense then why I pass on Money and why I never understood why people get all excited about it over their other IPAs

(after reading about the mess at Other Half all morning) stopped in today - had some great pizza from the new truck, Tanto 4pk, Hop Hills bottle, 2 fills of Icculus and a fill of Oaked Dubbel Down. I really enjoyed the oak in this too. This and Aytipcal really changed my thinking on oaked beers. Kind of like the smoked peat in Cairn and Lights Out - its just a more complex feeling.

PS - I hate to be negative but the new art show is like high school bad.

Anyone else think Kapow! Is like the most underrated IPA ever? It tasted just like HF Susan when I had it yesterday

Def. Whatever batch they have on now is unbelievable. Like "holy shit" good. Hope that recipe is canned!

Agreed about Kapow. It is really dialed in. I actually loved the original Kapow (now labeled deliculous I think) which was an XPA, but this batch has me forgetting all about that.

Awesome to hear. I gave up on buying Barrier IPAs for a bit because I wasn't entirely thrilled on what they've been putting out lately. Sad, because Money was the beer that got me excited about the local beer scene a few years back.

From what I recall Kapow was really bone dry like OH's Hop Showers - not to my taste. Is that still accurate? Just like I don't like SN Hop Hunter - too dry even though I like the hop profile. Deliculous XPA I do really like whenever its around.

They are making so many more IPAs this past year its really hard to keep up with all of them. Also saw a kind of new one - Suite - around, what's this one? Anyway I'd be happy with just Ruckus and Dunegrass any day.

Correct, Craig confirmed to me that the original Kapow became Deliculous.

I'm not a fan of Tanto - its hazy, very soft, juicy-ish with low carbonation. Maybe that means people will start lining up for it? Going to gift the remaining cans out for Christmas.
