Just put my bottle of Morticia in the refrigerator - might have it tonight, never had it before.

Am I the only one who prefers the old Morticia, not the Oak Aged?

I saved a growler from my keg last year and compared it to a fresh Morticia, even with some oxidation the regular from January 2015 was much better.

Fantastic beer. I would love to see a variant some day but def cannot complain in any sort of way about the beer.

I definitely agree. While I love the oak aged version the original Morticia was at another level.

I still have one bottle left from the very first release. The wax should help slow down oxidation. I'm gonna crack it along with a bottle of Archibald this weekend.

Is the latest bottling of Morticia oak aged? Don't see it on the label.
Love Archibald, hope it comes back this year - along with alot of old favorites that have been out of rotation lately.

I believe all Morticia is now oak-aged, but don't quote me on that. I remember a few years ago they did a single keg of oak-aged morticia and then it just seemed to have stuck.

I have a long list that would be nice to see again. I wish they would go back to having a more balanced roster.
Beech St, Antagonist, the saisons, Belgian 1, Dubbel Down, Craven, Oil City, Oblong, Dunegrass (DIPA - sorry)
Nice to see Barnacle, Copernicus, Cairn and Rembrandt lately.
I like IPAs but lately they've been in OH territory with most taps IPAs or pale ales.

I wonder how many of these were Craig's beers, I know they didn't divide recipes up like a divorce when he moved to Chicago but they could be beers he liked to brew.

Yea my favorite brew is bittersweet which we will unfortunately never see again. It was the last beer evan and craig brewed together at the old brewery and I've heard it just isn't in the works.

Would love to see Cycle, Vermillion and Saisoff come back.
So glad to see Rembrant back (one of if not the best local porter) and Chewy (a new porter) on last week.

I keep missing Chewy at the brewery - how would you describe it compared to Rembrandt?
Also found RipRap lately - really like that one.

It was on nitro and i'm not the biggest fan of nitro beers so I'd hate to compare it to rembrant.

Plenty of roastiness, little bit of chocolate, and very smooth (nitro of course). I really want to try it without nitro.

Just had some cask Greenroom dry-hopped with Cascade. It was cask done right. That beer was much nicer than I remember keg Greenroom being, but I love good cask beer. My appreciation for Barrier dipped a bit in the past year, but it's now firmly back.

Anyone know why they stopped doing dry hopped casks on Friday or experimental Thursday?

Just having one now - Not ashy or heavy for 10%. More chocolate than anything else but not sweet. No weird oak flavors that I was afraid of

I had one of those bottles recently and agree, not oaky at all. Dark chocolate and very nice.

The Atypical I recently had wasn't subtle with the oak... but I definitely liked it.

Yea I wasn't a big fan of that one. Too much oak for an IPA.

Not being a fan is one thing, but your second point throws me off. It's called "Atypical" - know what I mean? Barrier has plenty of other IPAs and this is their oak aged one (I know you know that ). Do you mean, "Too much oak for me to like it"?
