Hello BA's, I will be in Paris for a week at the beginning of the year. I am looking for some advice on notable bars and bottle shops with great beer selections, particularly sour and lambic beers. And also maybe some really good restaurants . And is Cantillon pretty easy to come by in Paris? Cheers, Shane
Hi, I suggest you take a look at my modest blog : http://happygohoppy.fr/ You will find anything you need on this map : http://happygohoppy.fr/carteparis/ I recommend you check these places : Bars : 1. La Fine Mousse : 20 beers on tap, nice selection of french craft beers, lounge atmosphere 2. L'Express de Lyon : one of my favorite, very beergeek friendly 3. Le Supercoin : only french craft beer and 3 beers on tap but a big choice of bottles 4. Brewberry Bar : new one, they opened yesterday, 24 beers on tap, nice european selection (Mikkeller, Tool, Nogne 0 ...) 4. Les Trois 8 : nice little bar with great beers Don't expect to much on sour and lambic in bars, it really depends. Bottle Shops : 1. La Cave à Bulles : the place to go in Paris, Simon is the Man specially if you are looking for Cantillon. 2. A La Bière Comme à La Bière : nice selection of international beers 3. Brewberry : they also have a shop in the same street You sure need to try some french beers, some stuff are now pretty great. I can also help you to find nice restaurant, but can you tell me what you are looking for and do you know in which area you will be staying ? Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Fabien
Mousse is solid and well know = gets super crowded ... I spent a week in Paris this past July and L'Express de Lyon was my favorite ... Very underrated - excellent tap selection, very friendly staff, close to metro and free wifi ... I kept coming back to this place during my visit - luv it!!! Cave a Bulles was for sure the best bottle shop in Paris!
