With the holidays coming up, I wanted to get this going as a pre-emptive strike against the inevitable stuffing of the face bound to occur. I wanted to create this LIF to challenge myself (and hopefully some of you!) to make a lifestyle change and become a healthier person. I would hope that most of you are familiar with the show "The Biggest Loser", but in case you aren't, it is a weight loss competition in which the goal is to finish with the highest amount of weight lost by percentage. The general theme of this LIF will be the same.

First things first, DUE TO THE SENSITIVE NATURE OF THIS LIF, ALL COMPETITION WILL BE DONE THROUGH PRIVATE CONVERSATION.

Now that we've gotten that out of the way, here's how this will work. Twice a month, you will post a picture of your scale reading with a piece of paper that has your username to the conversation as a weigh-in. On the 1st of every month, whoever has lost the most weight (strictly pounds lost) will win a small box of locals from me. After six months, I will send a box of nicer beers to whomever has lost the highest percentage of their total body weight from the beginning of the competition. At the end of one year, I will send a box of very nice beers to the person who has lost the most weight (again by percentage of OG weight). If that person should out-lose me (again, by percentage), I will include a Grey Monday in the box (haven't decided if it will be 2012 or 2013 yet, but I'll keep you posted).

    So, to recap:

Monthly "loser" - box of locals
Six-month "loser" - box of nicer beers
One-year "loser - box of whales, bro, with the potential for a Grey Monday

First weigh-ins will be on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 16TH. We will have weigh-ins on the 1st and 16th of every month for the duration of a year, just to keep each other honest. Please only enter this LIF if you are serious about trying to lost weight. Obviously space will be limited as I can only include up to 25 people in one conversation. If you want to join, but would rather not post in the thread, just shoot me a BM and I will let you know if there is still space.

I want this to be a positive, and potentially life-changing experience for all of those who choose to participate. Please don't ruin it by being a dick.

    Cheers!

    Mark

I wissssh you much success on this one. I've lost about 60lbs as of late by eating not so bad and lifting weights. Fuck cardio. Lift weights. Find what works for you.

And start drinking awesome session beers like allagash white and ZD.

Could this be like a high low thing where I win for gaining the most weight?

This is a great LIF, Mark! And perfect timing for Thanksgiving and the holidays.

I myself can relate to this LIF as I lost over 55 lbs and have kept the weight off for 10 years now. I wish all of you participants the best of luck!

I'm in. I don't think it's fair that the host of this LIF keeps sending me Head Hunter, since there's no way I can lose weight with that deliciousness in my fridge. But I'm in. Thanks for doing this. I'm off to go buy a scale.

I'd like to join too. Lost about 10 lbs with weight watchers, but could use some extra motivation, been slacking lately.
