Do they even exist (sarcastically speaking)?!?!? Never really see a whole lot of people talking from milwaukee... mostly chicago. Anyway, myself or a buddy is hosting a mini tasting on friday night around 930 or 10 if anyone wants to bring a couple bottles by. Bm if interested for most details (address, phone number, etc)

There's a few, though it seems none of them are in the Riverwest/East Side area.

I am holding down the Racine area, though I keep a low profile.

Yeah, there's a handful of us on here. I've been to a few tastings with various rotating participants... and would generally be interested in more tastings since beer keeps piling up in the basement - but I'm skipping beer in Jan (with a few exceptions).

I think the last time there was a open call out for a tasting by anyone was last July or so, the rest have just been BMs with people from past tastings.

Yeah, Chicago really needs their own forum. The guy who proposed that WI move to the Midwest forum was a genius.

Agreed with jjheinrichs - you'll see open calls for tastings periodically, I'm sure I'll put out another post for a tasting at some point too. Milwaukee BAs are out there, and all that I've met have been awesome guys. I'm not available this Friday to join your tasting, but good call putting this out in the great lakes forum, there's usually some good responses from a couple BAs whenever I have a question about a beer release or a beer store, etc.

Where do you shop by you? Im from Lake Geneva and stop at the Kenosha Woodmans once in a while even though the Oak Creek Woodmans is far superior.

    Bam
Tenuta's Deli on the north side of Kenosha has a very respectable selection of beer. They recently added a build your own 6 pack, and let you buy singles. Otherwise Uncle Mike's Pub in I-94 about a block north of Keno Woodmans has close to 100 drafts, and some great food. Mar's Cheese has a decent selection w Chicago prices.

In Racine I go to Timers Liquor, or can score decent at the local grocery stores. You might want to try Binny's in McHenry, IL.

If you have questions about particular beers, just holler

Was just wondering because depending on what Im looking for sometimes I ride out to Kenosha or even Oak creek to Woodmans and was wondering what else in the kenosha/racine area might be worth stopping at. My main stores are Binnys in Mchenry, Antioch fine wine and liqours in Antioch Il and Woodmans in Oak Creek. Usually between the 3 I can get what Im looking for, but always like to check other places to see what they offer and their pricing.

Been to somoma cellars in delavan? Nice store with good selection. Gooseberries in Burlington also has a nice craft depart. Some overpriced (13 for fbs) but most prices are fair plus fewer people in the area to clear the shelves as soon as something comes out

Never been to Somoma Cellers but yeah gooseberries is decent. I like getting my GI 22oz bombers from there because they are pretty reasonable.

That was me. Milwaukee BAs do exist, we just start border wars and then go back into hiding.

Posted this in the CW thread, but eh, I'll try again. Depending on bottle limits and crowd size, is there any way at all one of you Milwaukee BAs could pick me up a bottle or maybe two (would be willing to throw down some gas money for your trouble..) of 15? Was planning on going to this with a friend, but not only did that ride crap out, but I start school a few days beforehand, so I won't have time to go anyway. :slight_frown:

Guerilla BA tactics. It's smart. We're definitely outnumbered around here

Crap, I worded that really badly, heh. Looking for a bottle or two of 15 from the anniversary party in a few weeks. I don't know if there's any bottle limits or not (was there any last year?), so I'm not sure how unfeasible this is.
