Anyone know which lambic Mikkel is using for his line of Spontan beers? (Spontancassis, Spontanrosehip, Spontan-younameit)? Drinking a SpontanBlackthorn and it has a lot of funk.

No idea, but I know one of the rumors is that he buys it from Boon. Maybe @StonedTrippin might know.

I know he's collaborated with Lindemans on the likes of Spontanbasil:

and with Boon for his Bone Dry Selection:

My understanding, which might be quite apocryphal, is that he buys whatever bulk lambic he can get in sufficient quantity, usually from Boon, Lindeman's, De Troch, or Timmerman's (maybe even from Van Honsebrouck somebody told me, although I certainly hope not), and then he blends them and packages them at De Proef.

I have heard competing theories as well, but if he just bought the base beer, what the heck is spontanale then? Someone else's lambic with his label? The same is true for the vesterboro spontan. If he doesn't make, or at least blend a base beer, these beers would be identitical to some other commercially available lambic, and for my money, I have not detected that yet. They all stand as unique to me, but I have no idea what the real story is...

Rumor I always heard was Boon but this would actually make even more sense
