I'm smoking my turkey tomorrow and I want to use beer to baste the skin. I've injected it with creole butter and used Cajun seasoning on the skin. I'm smoking with old Tabasco barrel chips (oak). What beer would you use to baste the skin? I'm thinking an ipa would be good. I can't imagine the bitterness would be too potent using it like this.

What about the Labyrinth I almost drain poured just now? I think I know the answer but I hate to waste a beer so does anyone think the dark chocolatey beer would work? It'd be weird right?

Surely too late to give input, but, what'd you go with and how'd it work?

An ipa, Accumulation. Honestly, it didn't really impart much of a flavor. The smoke pretty much dominated which wasn't a bad thing!
