FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, May 16, 2012

Cape Cod Beer Announces Release of
BATCH #1000 - Imperial Red Ale
On Wednesday May 16th, 2012, Cape Cod Beer will release its newest Specialty Beer, BATCH #1000, an Imperial Red. This brew was the 1,000th batch of beer brewed by Cape Cod Beer on their 15 bbl system located at their Phinney’s Lane brewery. “A big round number like #1000 required something special, explains Brewmaster Todd Marcus. Given that Cape Cod Red, our flagship amber ale, accounts for 50% of the beer we sell, we thought a tribute to the Red might be fun.” The Imperial Red Ale was made with exactly 1,000 pounds of malted grains, a blend that included Canadian Pale, German Viena, and English Wheat, Crystal and Black Malts. Like its inspiration, Cape Cod Red, Batch #1000 is well balanced with a blend of 6 different hops: Cascade, Chinook, Magnum, Mt Hood, Zythos & Willamette. This beer tops out at 8% alcohol by volume, coincidently, that’s 1 percentage point for each year that Cape Cod Beer has been in business. This well balanced Imperial Red finishes with a lingering warmth from the higher alcohol content – perfect for the cool spring nights.
Cape Cod Beer is releasing this beer in the middle of American Craft Beer Week, a week designated by the Brewer’s Association as a celebration of the over 1,900 craft breweries in the United States. Events are being scheduled across the country to celebrate small producers of craft beer and the recent growth of the craft segment of the industry. Batch #1000 means that Cape Cod Beer has produced over 3.72 million pints of beer on their current system. Add that to the batches made on their original system and it totals over 4 million pints of beer made right in Hyannis!
Batch #1000 will be available at the brewery starting on Wednesday May 16th, on Cask at Flynn’s Irish Pub in Bourne the same night, and in select locations on draught thereafter, which can be found by using our Beer Finder at FIND.CapeCodBeer.com
