And I'm equally tired of the people who suggest that everyone really likes the taste of an AAL but some of us just pretend we don't because we're snobs.

So we're both tired. Have a beer...of your choice!

    ...I don't think so?

I do find it funny though that Chris Steltz stopped reviewing the color of beers because he was "running out of things to say", yet he describes just about every IPA as having, "That CLASSIC IPA" smell... with an "astringent character."

The perfect way to describe this situation...neither one very good...neither one make me sick.

I'd blame the Av's for that one.

No, i understand that. I dont think people hate AALs because their snobs (and i doubt many people think that way). I didnt like them years ago but as i grow older i find myself enjoying refreshing, mid-low abv beers that are reasonably priced (Narragansett, FS Session Lager, Four Peaks Sunbru, etc). Just because i like an AAL now and then does not make me a craft beer hater at all. I just dont get the point of posting something about a beer you dont care about. I dont go into a thread about Pannepot 2012 vs 2013 and tell everyone its complete shit and i will never drink it. It doesnt help the point of the thread....if this thread was called "opinions of batch 19 or third shift" then an answer such as the one BottleCaps80 posted would be totally fine.

That's all i was getting at really and i've wasted far too much time discussing it already......cheers!

I don't know if it was promo or not. I went in about a week later and it was still $5.59. I just had a gathering with a few friends and they all loved it. I am going to keep buying it as long as it is $5.59.

I tried Batch 19 first and liked it...about three months later, I tried the Third Shift and also liked it...but, at the time, thought Batch 19 was better...I think I tried a Batch 19 next, and the Third Shift stood out as to more to my liking...still, compared to Lite and High Life, these are much better offerings.

Haven't tried Third Shift, but I was pretty damn impressed with Batch 19...kind of reminded me of Boston Lager (but haven't had it in a long time, so I could be wrong.) Either way, it's quite good considering it's coming from Coors <_<

I have tried both and found both to be very sweet and well, macroish. If I had to choose I guess I would pick the batch 19, but I pawned off half of each six-pack on my step-dad who loves bud. I guess his opinion would be more accurate since he is who these beers are aimed at, and he preferred the third shift. I don't think these beers are aimed at real craft beer fans, but rather as an upsell to adjunct drinkers.
