No real rhyme or reason for me. I go to the fridge and pick a beer based on my mood. If I'm reviewing I do keep the hopper beers for last as to not have my palette affected.

Why have you limited the thread to night of drinking? After all, when it's noon on the east coast, it's 5 pm in Europe. Hooray for European happy hour.

Nice! Let me know who wins! I love doing side by sides, especially with DIPAs. I've done Double Sunshine v. Heady , Pliny v. Citra, and Heady v. Hopslam v. Pliny.

If I am craving a particular style or certain beer then that trumps all and comes first. I don't like to have more than 2 beers of one style in a row. I have to mix it up a lot to keep my palette fresh and interested. Sours are the ultimate palette refresher.

When 2AM or so rolls around I try to keep it to cheaper low ABV beers(Narraganset summer right now) but more than once I awoke the next morning and found out I opened a bottle or two that I was intending to save or at least have the pleasure of remembering drinking.

If they're good kids, they get him the beer before they go to sleep.

The only times I plan are if I go out: I try not to have that many high abv's as I am usually driving. The only other time is if a bomber catches my eye early in he week I will pop it open on a Friday night

If I'm not comparing similar types, I'll usually alternate between stout/RIS/porter and IPA/IIPA. Occationally throwing in a random dfh or quad.

Alphabetical order...yet within each letter range, i sort via vintage from earliest to most recent....occasionally, I drink according to region, attempting to hit a beer/brewery each night....traveling from a maltier region towards a hoppy region...Yet, this system as so many flaws that often, I find myself debating where to start while sipping on the bottle that was closest to the front of my fridge with SportCenter on.

Can I watch Eagles games at your house? You sound like a generous dude.

Absolutely - as long as you're OK with the fact that my buddies and I are all Giants fans.

The reason we drink at my house is because it isn't safe for us to be at the bar. We've actually had near incidents at Drafting Room.

Haha, I can endure a lot for beer! I never get upset by what team someone roots for. Fandom is complicated; no need to hate.

near incidents ay? you guys are rowdy snobby giants fans i see.... and stuck up beer nerds to boot!

i drink so much damn beer.... mostly ipa, pale ale and stout... occasionally some barley wine or an imperial this or that. i only plan if i am gonna have something "big"/high abv, and then i try to only have one or two before i jump into the heavy stuff.

go giants. (fan since '84 or so.... simms/taylor era)

I try any new beer first if I'm also having one's I am familiar with, try to go with the least to most bitter rule as well.

I agree with this...also when your in a bar I end up conversing more then watching the game, which is what I want to do. At home you decide the beers, the food, the people, etc...and I focus on the game while loving each sip of my lovely brew.
