Imperial Heff had 2 last night. Good stuff the beer came together very well. A hoppy heff is my best description. Easily one of their best beers. It should be a regular
Interesting. Hadn't heard about this one. Sounds like it's just a one-off. Found this info online: On The Count of Three Baxter Brewing announced that in mid-January they will begin distributing a beer celebrating their third anniversary. "On The Count of Three" an Imperial Hefeweizen is a single batch that will only be distributed once. Modeled after a traditional Hefeweizen, On the Count of Three incorporates a traditional Bavarian yeast strain with an American twist, yielding a finished beer with a 7% ABV. Available in all states Baxter distributes to.
I was really excited to try this because I really quite enjoy the entire Baxter line up. Thought that it brought all the elements you would expect out of a good heff but then also brought some awesome hop aroma/flavor. At this point I would really like to see them do something bigger because I think it would be awesome. Love how many places in Maine have stowaway on draft. BTW long time lurker first time poster love the site and have really really been digging this NE section. Just checked out Trillium because of what I've read on here so thanks for the info!
I thought they made a DIPA, but I think it was part of their brewery only small batches. The small batch beers they make always sound interesting. It sucks that they don't distro those, I don't think you can get growler fills of them either They are for in-house samples only, I think.
We can expect more one offs from them. Those tall boys allow them to wrap the cans with labels rather than having to buy a large amount of the actual printed can. I spoke to one of the brewers, and he hopes to do 3-4 one offs a year from now on.
Todd posted the press release at the beginning of December: http://beeradvocate.com/community/t...n-the-count-of-three-anniversary-beer.134634/
This is awesome news, can't wait for these to come out...I saw early that they were going to be making this one on beerpulse and definately was not disappointed when I finally got to try it.
No, no, no, no, no... no (imagine this in GIF form) To all brewers out there - don't just take any style and "imperial-ize" it. If you want an example as to why not, just try this beer
