In their defense, pretty good bottle shop, and most of their customers will get it for $18. Yeah pricey, but most of their bottles a a little higher.

OK, maybe they aren't assholes; they're just greedy extortionists. They may be great folks that run the place, and if they are, they will drop the price of Abyss to a more reasonable above-average price, like $16.49. Until then, pricks in my book.

I can agree with greedy extortionists. Most of their bottles are at least 10% higher because its pretty easy to get the 10% off. (Abyss being +20%) The staff, from the guys I've met are cool and knowledgable. First time I went in I was almost scared away by the prices, but the crew was really helpful. Plus they post good updates like when they got Lou pepes in, instead of hiding it like another place I frequent.

Assholes is the guy(s?) at the 1 bevmo i called and got a "we can't hold it, you need to come in. We have about a case left". I go in and get a "what's your name? ... We only have the two bottles left that are on hold for these other customers".

10% markup for a small bottleshop is actually good. Most small bottle shops I know that have a GREAT selection is at least 20%.

Bottles of Abyss are being sold as low as $12.99 in some spots. I'm no math wizard, but I'm pretty sure $19.99 is well over a 40% markup.

I can't find any abyss for $12.99. I wish I could and I'd buy it (duh). I generally like to think (or hope) bevmos ($16) sell at msrp but I'm definitely no expert on their pricing.

I'm on your side, and pretty much agree with you. I only disagree with automatically calling them assholes without knowing them. Especially if they are in an area where almost everything is marked up due to a higher cost of living.

As for your math, it's either 35% more or 54%. Or 27% if you wanna go off of an $18 price. Or 11% if comparing to bevmo. Or ... Nevermind, headache.

As far as I can tell, not yet. We always get stuff later than rest of bay. Should be here soon...

It hit in the Central Coast (Pismo, Santa Maria, Orcutt) on the day of the release (the 14th). Still can't figure that one out. I heard Santa Cruz area won't see any until the 12/4.

Yeah saw that earlier. I'll be down in Orcutt and Shell Beach for turkey day ( girlfriends and my family respectively). With my luck it will hit the South Bay while I'm gone, and be all gone in the Central Coast.

Just saw Cork & Bottle in Fremont post up Abyss on their IG page. I assume they got 1 case too.

Whole Foods on 24th Street (SF) had it as of today. I had to ask and they got it from the back (just got it in, I assume). Apparently, no limit. They asked me how many bottles I wanted @ $13.99. I got 3 plus 3 Enjoy By ($6.99 each). They gave me an additional 10 percent off for 6 or more loose bottles. :sunglasses:

Nor in Santa Cruz. I called a couple stores and everyone said next week.
Regardless of what they say I'm staying vigilant.
