What is the trade value? I want to land one.

There were 73 cases available at 4 Elf in December, with an 8 bottle limit. $30/4pk. How that translates into "value," I have no idea. I know there are bottles around, as folks are waiting for them to carb up a little before opening. They were flat as hell when released.

Agree. Had two, both flat, both delicious. Who knows what kind of insane trade magma they would be if carbonated.

I didn't like it at all and sent all of my bottles to trading partners, most of whom have loved it. I just think it's overly sweet and the flavors are all muddled. Yeah, having it be flat didn't help my opinion of it, but the carb issue was really secondary.

For my money, Kuhnhenn BBBW is so, so much better.

I thought it was two 375ml bottles per person, two four packs of 375?

You are right that the bottles were 375ml. Below is cut/paste from DH website:

    Monster 29 (Imperial Barleywine): 37 cases/1 – 4 pack limit – $26 a 4 pack/$7 a bottle
    BBL Monster 29 (Imperial Barleywine): 73 cases (375 ml bottles)/2-4 pack limit – $30 a 4 pack/ $8 a bottle

I actually feel this is one of those beers that can get away with being "under" carbed. Both bottles I have cracked did not suffer at all, I thought it was lively enough to support to bold flavors. There are definitely better BBBW out there (and I agree with Steimie, Kuhnhenn is one of them).
