So can anyone confirm if 4 packs are still available at eccentric cafe? I also noticed (according to untappd ratings) that this beer was in fact released Monday. The fact it lasted till today was a feat. If there are some still available I think a road trip may be in order tomorrow morning

I love reading all the "reviews" saying how much better '17 is than '16 with more oak/bourbon/vanilla. So you're telling me a beer freshly emptied from barrels has more barrel character than a beer sitting in bottles for a year?

Based on what I saw posted here & on Facebook Kzoo pages it was sold out before 6pm

Fresh '17 is better with more oak/bourbon/vanilla than FRESH '16 was. Is that better?

Fresh '16 had more of a regular expo taste to me w/that hoppy bitterness really coming through & the barrel seemed light...more oaky than bourbony. '17 almost doesn't seem like Expo to me because there is more barrel flavor (vanilla & bourbon) taste that comes through so it's more balanced tasting to me

Dude offered a case for BA Abraxas on Facebook. Needless to say that got done quickly. Good Lord

That "dude" is an idiot. If this was a year+ ago then I can see it but BA Abraxas' secondary value has come down quite a bit. Not only that but to have more than likely swindled a case somehow and trading the whole thing for a single bottle is ludicrous. Beer karma will come back and get him I'd bet.

Definitely was gone by 6pm on Monday. I got there at 450p and there was very little left. When I went back to the general store to get a shirt for my gf after eating and having a couple beers it was all gone.

He said he doesn't like BA Expo, so while I may question his palate, I am not going to call him an idiot.

Meanwhile, I just want to get a few bottles to share with my friends and people are trading whole cases... I am Jack's raging bile duct

It went on sale Monday, and it sold out Monday. Nothing lasted til Tuesday. People opened bottles and drank it on Monday and tapped it in.

I'd be fine with that scenario too. Honestly, If I got my hands on one bottle I'd still split it with a buddy of mine. All's well that ends well. I'm sure that dude will "solo dome" his BAA in one of those giant glasses. And we can all rest assured knowing that.

Okay, I'm done pouting like a 7 year old who lost his little league game. As previously noted, beer karma is a thing. It'll end how it ends.

What's the back story on BAE? The legend behind last year's release was that the BA Cream Stout that would've gone into Black Note was infected so they put BAE out...but then they also did two releases of Black Note later in the same year! BAE is delicious, and arguably better than Black Note, but inquiring minds are gonna inquire!

That statement makes more sense, yes. Cheers to good beer though!

Maybe one or both of the Black Note releases was supposed to be bigger? Do we have a real source for the infected cream stout story, or was that the usual hear-say? Maybe they were trolling us for suspense? If I was Bell's and wanted to keep these releases a surprise I'd spread all kinds of fun rumors around. I don't have a real contribution here, just my $.02.

Pardon my ignorance on this, a few months ago I had the Traverse City Whiskey Expedition Stout. Is this the same beer as Barrel Aged Expedition in bottles?
