I wish I had some lying around, though. I don't think those made it out of Austin.

Did they ever actually release any of those or are they just mock ups. I've seen the pics, but never heard anything about their IPA or any of the other beers that have popped up with those logos.

I had just assumed they were testing the waters when they decided to brew beer.

Who knows. I just remember when their initial line-up of BM, WM, CS, and Das! made it to Houston, that was glorious.

I know I would definitely be interested in working out a trade if someone had some bottles.

I remember the first drop was BM and WM. It was a little bit later I ever saw CS and DW. Around November iirc.

I do remember the first kegs of Black Metal at Petrol though. At the time it was one of the best stouts I remembered having. While still good, it's been knocked down a few pegs.

If I recall, Petrol actually tapped the last known OG BM keg

I saw beer being poured out of those bottles... but it was way before Jester King even opened (2009 or 2010, I believe).

They were never sold like that. Just a mockup for samples.

They also had a watermelon beer in their lineup back then, iirc.

I love watermelon beer. RU55 had a wonderful melon aftertaste.

I just don't remember the melon in RU. I'm all for a watermelon saison though

I just had on tonight. It's kind of like the white meat on the watermelon flavor... bitter melon I guess.
