Does anyone happen to know what distillery the 12 and 15 year old bourbon barrels come from that fremont uses? Is it Dry Fly?

Heaven Hills. At least it used to be.

Dry Fly wouldn't have anything near a 12-year old barrel. Pretty new-school stuff.

Dry Fly is older than you think, going on year 9 I believe. Granted, 12 is still greater than 9... And I'm not sure if they were actually producing bourbon in those first few years. But yeah, I've always been under the impression that Fremont almost exclusively used Heaven Hill barrels.

I think their bourbon is like 3-years aged or something. I assume, like most newer distilleries, they cranked out the clear stuff for a while before releasing a bourbon.

We use Elijah Craig barrels exclusively aged between 10-15 years. We only use the barrels once and blend with some 2-year aged beers.

What do you do with the barrels once you're done with them?

Also, what is this year's blend? I remember last year's being 15 months, 12 months, and 8 months? Any plan for a single-barrel release this year? I'd love to be able to taste the beer before it's blended.

Anyone know when C&C BBomb is released? I've got a friend in Tacoma I am going to be seeing in early Jan and was hoping to ask a favor (beer run) to grab some for me.

Someone else asked the same question yesterday, with no response. I don't know either, but I did ask the manager over at 16 tons about it on Sunday. He indicated that it was his understanding that Oregon should be getting a full distribution of Fremont stuff, and that this would seem to suggest that we would get some Bbomb as well. Currently, I think down here in Eugene we're only getting the interurban IPA and the regular dark star.

Anyway, he mentioned that Bbomb was on the order sheet, and that of course he indicated they wanted some, but so far it's still unclear whether 16 tons, or anyone else, is going to receive any in Oregon. That's all I know.

Pendleton isn't actually aged in barrels in Oregon. It's a Canadian whisky, so it's brought to HRD in tanker trucks, chill filtered, proofed down, and bottled. I personally love it though!
