So Ive heard rumors, but just wanted to confirm.... Are there bottles of BBPt5 with non BB lables that have been waxed? Not really sure about this, but somewhere I read that they didnt have enough labels for BB this past winter, so they put old labels on and waxed. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Cheers
Have not heard this. I will check my bottles when I get home. If it has the bronze wax, I would assume its BB. That wax is also a pain in the ass this year
I have 2 bottles with the bronze wax and another one with black wax (similar to a new glarus wax job).... Read somewhere else that they ran out of bb labels and did this type of waxing at the brewery to ensure people knew that it was still bb, and not reg. Could be mistaken though.
I know all mine from this year have stickers and gold/bronze wax. I do know that last year they used two different colors of wax since they ran out of one, so it's not that far fetched. I don't remember hearing anything about running out of stickers though.

Black wax was not '13. '13 was silver wax. Have it in my cellar. The label also says BB '13. Perhaps, no BB or 13' on label was black wax.
Boosully is right, black wax are '13 bottles sold at this past 4 elf party. they are BBPT5 bottles with regular labels and black wax. they were two 4 pack per person limit. i was actually told that they are the Oppermanns version which would make sense since all of those had regular labels as well.
Sorry, I was right the first time. From 4 Elf, the copper colored wax was '14, The silver was was '13 and the black wax was '12. The '12 has an old label that does not say "BBA" but it does say " Bourbon Barrel Aged" on the 4 pack holder. As far as other wax colors I have no idea. Sorry for the confusion.
Being that the oppermans,brass mug, tippins were all the same you are technically right...But the ones with the black wax were the second shipment of the brass mug ones that they never got....
no...none of these original releases of these got waxed...The only ones that got waxed were the brass mug shipment they never recieved...those were the 2013 black waxed tops from the 4 elf party 2014
Thx..so the mainstream/regular BA bottles were waxed, but the variants were in regular label plead bottles, with little hand written labels saying, in my case Tippins?
