I'm gonna do a quick day trip to Central City and Four Winds next week for some bottles and lunch. Can I bring any growler to get filled, or do I have to purchase one from the brewery? I'm not sure if your laws are like ours in WA or more like those in CA.

You can bring any growler as long as it is clean. I know Four Winds can fill 1 litre and 3.78 litre (1 gallon) sizes. Best to check with both if you have different sizes (twitter works well).

    Don't bring 750ml, they'll charge you for a full litre. #oohmetric

    I think you meant 64oz = 1.89L, not a full gallon.

Yes, you are correct and I made the mistake of using a 750 HF growler and was charged for 1 litre

I was planning on bringing 32 oz mini growlers. Haven't heard back from either brewery yet.

I would expect both places to be able to fill it, but they might need to charge you the next price up if they don't normally sell that size

That's so strange. Here in Seattle they just charge you half the regular growler price.

Everywhere here has a 32oz/1Litre sku, you'll be fine. It's the 750ml ones they don't have a sku for. Most places only do 32oz and 64oz. Brassneck also has mini ones at 475ml, pretty sure they are the only ones.

4Winds even sells their own 1L flip top bottles.
