Singularity starting to hit shelves in yvr. Now at Liberty. No news yet on Brewery Creek, Firefly 16th etc or whether limits will be imposed this year.

Yeah I split a case of it last year. I guess those days are behind us.

Also gone are the days of it being easily accessible for weeks, something tells me - though still plenty at Brewery when I was there at 10:30pm tonight

Well if the rumours of a much larger batch are true, I suspect it still shant be too difficult to get. Could still be out there for weeks.

I did not enjoy the Four Winds Brett IPA as much as I'd hoped I would based on their IPA and their Saison Brett, both of which I was a big fan of.

Has anyone else tried the Central City sour? Had it at St Aug's over the weekend. Curious of what others think.

I thought it was waaaaaaaay too sour for it's own good. It had some promising notes in it, but they were completely masked by the acid. I got a weird hop character from the ESB base too.

I thought the same on the ISA - I was hoping for a low alcohol version of their IPA but the hops had a real BC Bud characteristic that I didn't care for.

Four Winds Wildflower Saison back on shelves. I'll happily enjoy another bottle of that stuff.

Persephone's packaged stuff is finally available too. Tried their 4% Scottish Ale and was very impressed. Huge flavour for a 4%. Doesn't seem to be included with this release though.

Available now at at least Legacy:
    Best Bitter (650ml)
    Wee Heavy (650ml)
    Rum Runner Red (650ml)
    Goddess Golden (cans)

I expect Lighthouse's new farmhouse ale "Satuereig" to hit YVR shelves soon, and Surlie's (uhg… that name) Solitaire is at Legacy.

Just checking to make sure I wasn't entirely off base. I found it to be pretty vile stuff.

When I told the server they could take away the mostly-full sample size, she immediately assumed I'd ordered the sour. Too bad. But not every risky attempt is going to pay off.

Yeah I'm glad I tried it, but I didn't finish my glass either. Hoping they learn from it and adjust for a new sour.

I tried a berliner weisse clone while in new york last month from Peekskill Brewing. it was called 'simple sour' and it was perfectly sessionable. i would LOVE for someone in bc to put out a sour as part of their roster. at the very least, it could help grow the style.

Well driftwood runs the sour scene currently, and expect four winds to enter the realm soon. Iain Hill's new setup looks promising on the sours side.

i should clarify: i know about the seasonal sour beers and the good folks producing them. i'd like to see something available year round

Ahh fair enough. Yeah that'd be something. We need our Cascade.

16th Street has released sold out of Mamouche and Lou Pepe Kriek, but they had some more interesting stuff.

There were still a few bottles of tilquin quetsche, which I haven't seen still available anywhere else. Tasty stuff.

They also got in Mikkeller/Omnipollo collabs Nebuchadnezzar (12oz) and Leon (22oz) but they are both likely quite old. Neb was still very tasty when I had it late last year and leon was ok.

They got a shipment of Hollows & Fentimans Ginger Beer collab. Interesting enough to warrant a try (think it was 4%)

Straffe Hendricks Quad and Tripel are in as well. The quad seems well recieved.

Finally, an oldie. They've still got a couple cases of Driftwood Heretic, which is (apparently) drinking really well right now.

Chris alsomentioned that they should be getting the re-released Four Winds Wildflower Saison tomorrow.

Not sure on the Hollows if the reviews here are anything to go by.

Yikes. Just saw that. Seems like 2 guys at the same tasting, so maybe not completely reliable, but still…

I don't always focus on BA reviews when buying an unknown beer, but I probably would when they are 1.5/5...but you are right, could be same tasting. Did you buy?
