I've been trying to grab a DL but my offers haven't had much success so far. Thinking of offering a '12 BCBCS Bomber for a DL...Thoughts? Even after trading for a year I have a tough time with this stuff.
Oh lord, keep your BCBS and skip the dark lord. What you've got,is so much better than what you THINK you want.
I traded a 2014 DL for a 2012 BCBS Coffee earlier this year and have also traded DL straight up for Backyard several times in the past few months. It's all a matter of opinion on which beer tastes better so factor that in however you want. Some people will tell you the coffee is gone from BCBS 2012 and is no longer worth it. Some people will tell you that DL is way too sweet and is not worth trading for. There's only one way to find out. Good luck OP!
I made the mistake of trading for dark lord in the past. Keep your bcbcs, as much as the coffee has faded it's still better than any non barrel aged dl.
I think that would get done However, I hunted one down and was highly dissapointed. To quote my wife after she tried it, "this shit tastes like terriaki sauce" She was right....... But as dtjager said there is only one way to find out for sure! Good luck!
Ha, I'm not expecting I'll enjoy it as much as the BCBCS... It's just the last one of the main wants that I got into trading for that I still have yet to snag. Thanks for the input, all!
As an aside, I've read a lot of stuff on the forums about DL, and hardly any of it was a ringing endorsement... yet it has a 95 BA score? What gives?
Believe it or not, some people (like me) really like it. It's a sweet beer, but if you can get past that it's pretty damn good. Maybe not 95 good, but it's definitely not a drainpour.
Do it. There is no coffee left in that beer. You won't miss anything. Dark lord is great especially at this point. Just get a 14.
