Last year it seemed like it was about 6 bcbcs for a prop. Do you think it will take 3 bcbcs or a complete 4 pack for vanilla?
well $4 even should be around a four pack, but its vanilla and not everywhere is getting it like they got Backyard last year so i personally wouldn't even do a 4 pack for 1 vanilla.
I tried offering 6 BCBCS last year for a Prop and got mostly crickets, I don't think many 6:1 got done last year. Seems like 7 or 8 was the going rate for Prop. For Vanilla I think 4 or 5 will get done this year
Just had both last night. Both are amazing, but bcbcs is better by a good amount. Vanilla was a little sweet (nautrally). I think for the next few weeks a 4 pack would be fair for vanilla, but i think vanilla's trade value will increase pretty quickly. Especially since many places aren't getting it.
1900 Barrels Regular 600 Barrels Barleywine 200 Barrels Vanilla 230 Barrels Coffee 53 gallons in a bourbon barrel 128 oz in a gallon Say 10% from the barrel was lost Vanilla 200 x 53 x 128 - 10% /22oz in a bottle = potentially 55,500 bottles Vanilla - some go to bars and some are in kegs and some held back Coffee 230 x 53 x128 - 10% / 12 oz (even tho its 355 ml not 375) = 117,000 bottles into 4 packs = 29,256 4 pack or about 4900 cases. All this is approx. (The # of barrels was posted online , my math is approx) What I'm trying to get at is 4 Coffee : 1 Vanilla is fair. I also consider the face you can open Coffee at 4 different occasions vs 1 Vanilla you must drink all at once.
Just a thought. If barleywine isn't as popular as the other varients...they do they make so much of it? Why not make more coffee instead and less BW?
The barleywine goes into used BCS barrels, it is a bonus, and has nothing to do with volume of varients produced.
