Standard in NYC was $14/bottle! Oddly, Whole Foods had it the old "reasonable" price of $7 per, but every bottle shop was double that. Is it just my city? NYC is always pricey but several buyers I talked to cited higher prices from distributors.

trade value the same as ever. roughly $5-$7 per bottle for similar quality and rarity beer. buying a beer from a store who jacks up the price doesnt increase that beers trade value. the BCBCS one guy buys for $6 is the same as the BCBCS another guy buys for $14. the only difference is one guy needs to find a new place to shop.

Obviously, I just wondered if prices were up across multiple cities and if that influenced value. Like I said the sellers claimed the distributors were jacking up the price, they were just passing that along. If so it's more than just a "store jacking up the price".

I got a 4-pack fort he same price ($24.99) this year as I did last year. If there is a price increase it wasn't passed along at this shop this year.

Yup, we didn't get BCBCS in Colorado. But I got a 4 pack of regular old BCBS for $17.49 this year (I know, dirt cheap)... but anyways.. I think you're getting shafted...

This year's BCBCS is not worth $7, let alone $14. Especially if you had fresh BCBCS last year. Poor choice of coffee this time.

Do you have any bottles BCBCS you would want to trade?

Unfortunately (or fortunately?) I struck out on BCBCS this year. A friend opened one of two bottles he snagged.

Minnesota seems to have gotten more coffee this year over last. I know it was priced nowhere near 14 bucks a bottle though. I think Shane hit the nail on the head poor choice on coffee flavor this year. I had the whole Bourbon County line up on tap in Chicago and was underwhelmed to say the least right down to the Vanilla Rye.

So no one in other big cities is experiencing this terrible gouging? I was led to believe it would be more expensive everywhere this year. Thanks for all the feedback. (I'm not buying at these prices, traded for mine so far.)

What's worse, due to scarcity a handful of stores are forcing "package" buys. One shop required you buy 8xBCBS to have the "privilege" of buying 1 bottle of BCBCS...
