I don't want to derail the BCBCS as that sounds mighty tasty right now, but if sorry if anyone missed out on Sue. This was our first bottling of it, but it will be bottled again soon and regularly. Now, back to the BCBCS; go get some!

Love to hear that Sue will be bottled again soon and regularly! I guess I would call it your flagship beer, so I'm hoping it becomes easier to get in the future.

Not sure where the confusion came in but the Naughty Temple was listed at $39 on the list when I got there around 5 yesterday. They had some other cool stuff on the reserve bottle list but it was going fast last night from what I could see. The KBS bottles were gone when I got there. The BCBCS was unbelievable though!!!

$39!?! This is exactly what is wrong with craft. You are paying for hype. This is why craft is becoming a parody of itself. Sure it's a great beer but I'll pass and grab a beer that is just as good if not better for around $5. Christ

Had a super time last night. Got there @ 5 and nabbed a KBS bottle, then had a BCBCS. Sprung for a Cantillon Rose de Gambrinus after that and shared it with 5 others. Delicious and worth every penny @ $29. Then the great 2008 BCBS popped out and was able to get a few nice ozs. Thanks to the Nova!

I'm not sure hype is the right word. That word is thrown around quite often in the craft industry in a very incorrect way. Limited production/supply/distribution is much different than hype. Hype requires exaggerated or extravagant claims to sell a product, something that I would argue strongly against in TG's case as they have been nothing but a class act and stand up guys. Naughty Temply rates a 95 on this site, I don't think that qualifies as a hype beer. Is $39 a lot for a beer? Yes. But when retail is $25 i don't think a 35% margin is raking anyone over the coals for on premise. I cant imagine a bar or restaurant would make it very long if they sold things at cost. Look at the cost for a Miller lite vs the on premise sell price, that margin would make you sick....Anyway the purpose of this thread was to alert those in the area of the BCBCS on tap.

What is the layout for these releases - do you have to get a table? Curious given the small size of the Nova, and even fewer spots at the 'bar'-isnt there only about 6 chairs?

I don't care $39 for a beer is too much. There's something called cognitive dissonance. Is anyone who was willing to pay that much for a beer really ready to go on this site and rate it a 3.5 (especially when they have a couple they bought as trade-bait)? With really rare/expensive beers - I include a grade inflation factor.

How much was the BCBCS growlers BTW? If it was under $20, that's money in the bank.

You can sit anywhere in the restaurant. When I left @ 7 the only thing that was gone was the KBS. They still had two Cantillons. Today they're tapping New Glarus, tomorrow is sour day and Friday they'll have Toppling Goliath taps - Pseudo Sue, Zeelander, Alternate Galaxy, Golden Nugget, and Rover Truck (this one is on now). The others rarities were DFH 2008 WWS ($17) and a 2006 120 min ($19). Both 12 oz btls.

Afaik, no growlers for BCBCS. It was $8 for a 10 oz pour.

The confusion is because I called yesterday and was told it was $49. I asked, "Really? That seems really high!" She then confirmed that that was indeed the price.
Perhaps my phone mini-freakout prompted a reassessment of the price:slight_smile:
