Just had part of a BCBS 22oz and I found it much more impressive than the 12oz version. Am I cracked or are there other beers that people have this experience with?

Aged beers shouldn't be subject to comparison from bottle-to-bottle. Too many variables. The 12oz bottle might have had some oxidation occur, been stored improperly or different than the 22oz bottle, etc.

I find that an 09 BCS is the best one I have had.

    Cheers!

Bigger is better! I liked the 09 better than the other years I have had but have not had the 09 in the smaller format bottle.

As for the side by side - they were both bought by me in early 2010 and stored next to one another with electrical tape wrapped around the cap in the same basement closet.

Larger format bottles tend to age more gracefully.
