I know its a long shot but has anybody seen any regular bourbon county stout sitting on shelves around chicago anywhere? My stash of bcbs is running low & its one of my favorites & I know they made a ton last year.
I know this likely won't help your case but I've seen BCBS just last month but it was still there for a reason. Went into one small shop that had some in the cooler...$49.99 price tag, yikes.
Some guy in thread on r/beer recently said his store in MA just got 10 cases in out of the blue (which is nuts, since stores in my area pretty much got 1 case each), and until recently people in New York were posting on here saying their stores still had it around. Other than that, I can't imagine there's much left, unless it's carrying an insane price point ($50+). Edit - I was also in the UK recently, and decent beer stores there still have it on shelves. Doubt that's very helpful to OP though.
This was a couple weeks ago, but I saw a few stray bottles at Leland Liquor (Western/Leland in Lincoln Square). Not sure what they were selling for.
Your best/easiest solution is to simply trade for it. I've traded for 3 - 4packs of BCS in the last couple weeks. Now, I have enough to get me to the next release in November.
I've seen it at bars on the south side at a carryout price of 35 (tax included). Msg me if u want the info.
I saw some 4 packs at gold crown liquors at the intersection of roscoe and clark a few weeks ago. You could give them a call. They lasted 6 months, maybe they are still there.
D & D on division by the Ukrainian village has regular bourbon county for 39.99 on the shelves. They also have prop, cherry rye, backyard, and barleywine behind the counter but the owner will make you haggle. He wanted around seventy five for backyard...
Imagine how much more BCBS would be available if GI would pull their distribution to shops that did this.
