Is there a thread on this yet? I haven't heard much of anything on what IA may be getting, limits, pricing... Has anyone heard anything? We're almost 2 weeks out from Black Friday so assume some info should start popping up soon.

I really haven't heard anything yet from my "sources". I would just assume to show up at the regular spots and hope for the best.

Only thing I know is confirmed for Black Friday for certain is that Fleur HyVee will once again be doing Bourbon County Breakfast and will have 2014 and 2015 BCBS on tap, as well as 2015 BCBS bottles, but no word on variants at this point. I'm sure more details will be released about the options for the breakfast pairing(s) as well, like last year.

I've heard no variants for Iowa...from Hy-vee, don't know if it is true.

I've heard extremely limited amounts of variants and plenty of regular for central Iowa. Given the format/pricing change, none of us really know how this is going to pan out in terms of limits and supply/demand until it happens.

I think this year I might be trying to make the trip to Chicago. I feel like the best case scenario for coffee would be one bottle in PP in Iowa and I need a little bit more coffee in my life than that!

I have a friend who works for a distributor, and he said there will be a fair amount of regular, but the variants will be extremely limited. I'm even hearing that places in Minnesota that traditionally get variants are not getting any this year...

the initial tasting notes I've read about Coffee and Barleywine are not encouraging, and they are rumored to cost more than the regular this year. Google "2015 bourbon county stouts tasted and ranked" click the top link to Josh Noel's write-up in the Tribune. (I'd link directly but you have to Google to get around their paywall)

All Binny's stores will have 1 coffee per person as well. If you're thinking BCBCS is going to be plentiful in Chicago I'm fairly certain you'll be disappointed.

1pp is better than 0. Last year barely any stores got coffee at all... Just a heads up.

Sure but your original quote implied needing a bit more than the 1 PP best case scenario in Iowa.

My implication is that 1pp was best case. I think in chicago I'll at least be able to get 1 pp possibly more if I roam around the city a bit. But yeah. WE SHALL SEE!

Heard from a few people that went to the rare day event that '15 coffee was not very well received by them

I know there is a lot of hearsay about Rare quantities but I'm just relaying what I heard so take it for what it's worth: 150 bourbon barrels of Rare x 53 gallons per barrel equals approximately 1 million ounces. Divide by 17 ounces gets you about 58k bottles. Assume some of that is spillage and kegs so maybe about 50,000 bottles?

If that's true the trade value will definitely mellow out. Some of the ISO's are insane right now.

They made as much Rare this year as they made Vanilla Rye last year is my understanding from a Chicago Tribune article

Based on their analysis of Bourbon County Rare, the Beer Temple in Chicago puts the total COST per bottle of Rare at $11.70! Quite a cash cow for ABInBev if true!
