Yeah i only have the one bottle of regular that i was holding on to. Got refunds for my Coffee and BW. Didnt think the regular caught the bug too. Oh well.

From what I heard it wasn't every batch, Nation-wide, but most of the '15 in the Tri-State area infected after about 6 months or so. My last one, I didn't buy much that year thank God, was all sour cherry.

Happy to stand corrected, but my recollection was that about 8 months ago they gave codes for the regulars that were infected (can easily google online their letter I bet, but I have parental controls on my internet due to my age). I have a different recollection than @guinness77 in that I did not think the majority of the NY area ones were infectedd.... I had a few from various shops in NYC (whole foods and others), and none of them matched the codes for infected beers. The ones I've had were totally normal. and I've had some recently (all of my barleywines were drainpours).. anyways, I would think you should assume yours is good (if you check against the codes). Given they did this in 2017 for 2015 beers I would expect their codes for the infected ones are accurate...

Somebody at one point posted the codes on this site and I had 2 regular bottles left and they were both one of the codes. I drank one right away and I got a faint hint of cherry on the finish but it was still pretty damn good. I stupidly waited to drink the last one thinking maybe I was good but my last one was all sour cherry. I wasnt completely shocked. I bought 2 on Long Island and 2 at WF Chelsea that year.

Yeah, I had plenty of BCBS from NY and in NM that was not infected. The Coffee and the barleywine were the big disasters with a few batches of infected BCBS scattered across the country.

If anyone hasn't noticed apparently Malt and Mold LES has a 1992 BCBS for $110. I can't imagine it tastes any good at this point- oldest beer I've had was 6 or 7 years old (another big ass stout) and it was definitely past peak if not unpleasant to drink.

I know my 2007 bcbs basically were on their decline in 2015, starting to get the soy sauce taste, so 1992 must be way beyond that...

How did they manage that if it was only getting bottled starting in the 2000’s

Pretty sure it’s just part of the description, in that BCBS was on draft since 1992. Hence the reading “This rare beer is from 1992”

Isn’t that what they sell Rare for? Pretty sure I saw the box behind the counter last I was there...

Ah yes that does make sense- I read it quite literally thinking that if it was the 2015 Rare release they'd have entered it as such.

Sounds way more likely. Is the $110 bottle they have:

    A) a bottle of Rare?
    B) a hand bottled sample of regurgitated ‘92 from the very first batch?

It might be a 2009 bomber of BCBS

Just wait for the next installment of Grit and Grain when we learn about a "lost keg of Bourbon County Stout from 1992 hidden in the back of a warehouse on Chicago's Southside...introducing, Bourbon County Rarer!"

Great to hear. I have one bottle of 2013 left that I plan on doing a vertical with after I acquire this years edition. Obviously 2015 wont be included as all 7 of my bcbs bottles were infected to all hell.

What was 2016 regular at top hops last year? $15 for 2017 is several $ more than 2016, I think I paid 11 last year on LI.
