BCBS 2017 NYC Releases

Looks like Clinton Gourmet in Hell's Kitchen got some cases...no confirmation on the vintage but if you're looking for regular BCBS for Thanksgiving this is the earliest release I've seen.

I’ll be in BK tonight for a show at Warsaw but cant imagine they’ll let me coat check a bottle of BCBS. I’ll also probably get drunk and would open it on the train ride home.

Rattle n Hum east will be hosting black Wednesday again. They just posted on instagram. No tap or bottle list yet but they seem to be playing up the reserve. Hopefully they’ll have it, even though it’s meant to be a Chicago and Kentucky only release.

Clinton Gourmet has plenty of 2017 for sale now. $11.99. I just picked up 3 bottles to enjoy over the long weekend. Should have nabbed a few more but was on my way to give a bunch more of my money to Other Half for growlers...

 

I think there's some kind of mistake at Harlem Key Food. Reg, BW and Coffee are all on the shelf. I thought they couldn't sell the variants before Thanksgiving?

Anyway reg was only $6.99 and Coffee was $14.99. Didn't seem to be any limits (but I only got 1 each). Saw a '15 Rare on the shelf too. Good luck.

 

Wonder how many people are now frantically racing up to Harlem to nab all those coffee bottles? maybe they can get rid of all that old Grimm too...

 

I'm about a week ahead of time, but will be getting to the city on 12/1. Looking for good spots on tap and regular / barleywine bottles. I know Astoria WBC typically has a later event in past years and Whole Foods holds on to bottles later. At least from what my sister who I'm visiting has picked up bottles for me in the past tells me. Any better info on stuff the week AFTER Tgiving? Check Beer Menus a few days before?

 

ABC is doing it the saturday of... you are right though, normally they wait a week, not this year...

What were they charging for the barleywine? Which cross street/location is that if you don't mind? Haven't gotten any BW the last few years and that's my fave (at least was until the sour ones....).

 

ABC does a release? Do you know what they’re getting?

 

That rare has been on the shelf for a year now. Surprised no one has grabbed it but I think it’s $110. It is surreal it’s just hanging out with the shelfies.

 

$14.99 for BW as well. It was the one near 125th & Morningside.
