Just my opinion after tasting all them last night at Dive Bar.

Reserve is good needs to warm a little. Can definitely taste the difference due to the barrels.

Orange is disgusting. Taste like orange rind. Not worth it at all.

Coffee/bw is surprisingly good. Smells like coffee, tastes like a coffee when cold, as it warms, tastes like a bw.

Brand stout - meh, blackberry back end.

Bramble - juicy bomb, thin body, okay. Not amazing not bad. Tastes more like fruit juice then a stout aged with fruit.

Wheatwine - weirdly good (in a not expecting anything way.

Vanilla - strong flavor, too intense, will be much better with age, at least 7-8 months.

Was also at Dive Bar last night.

I loved the Midnight Orange and it was my second favorite. I kept thinking it resembled a chocolate orange cordial of some sort.

My favorite was the coffee barleywine. The coffee is excellent and the way the flavors of the coffee and the barleywine complement each other was remarkable. Really great beer.

Reserve shows the most barrel and bourbon but is still quite good. Third favorite.

Vanilla was good but didn’t wow me. Seemed too much like Regular, I guess. 4th favorite.

Wheatwine is okay. Tastes like a young, raisiny, date-heavy barleywine or strong ale without any barrel notes. 5th.

Bramble is thin and tastes tart and fruity. It tastes like something I concocted at home in the past by taking a Regular BCBS and adding fruit juices... which is essentially what Goose Island did, haha.

Agreed that Orange is gross. Can't believe someone would say Vanilla was similar to Regs - it was like biting into a raw vanilla bean. Way too much.

I thought Coffee BW was best, but we didn't get Reserve or Bramble in DC (yet). Wheatwine is a step down from Regs BW imo unfortunately.

Is there a scene at top hops? If there is then this will be the pinnacle of “shit that never ceases to amaze me”

Don’t think they had coffee, but agree on all the others. Seems like it’s a similar story with other WF locations in the city

Can anyone please report on Wholefoods Columbus Circle availability? Might check out David Changs new places to make it worth it.

WF Brooklyn has Regular, Orange and Vanilla. Regular came to $12.04 with the variants at $23.04. I wonder if the price increase of the regular was on AB-InBev or Amazons end...

Regular, Orange, Vanilla and Wheatwine in Whole Foods Williamsburg (as opposed to Gowanus). No Coffee BW which was the only one I wanted inevitability.

Beer Town on Crossbay Blvd was the place to be this morning. Got there about 30 mins before open, was 5th in line, doors opened a little early and i was in and out by 10:20. Coffee BW was 15.99(!!!) with a 3pp limit. They had Reserve as well for 25.99. No gimmicks, no fuss. Just good people selling beer at a fair price. They had plenty of Vanilla left as some good patrons were helping to bring cases out of the back for the 2 nice ladies working there. Not sure how much coffee they got but that first case disappeared quickly.

Food Emporium on 50th had all the variants. But be prepared to pay a heavy premium on many of them.

Back home for the holiday- thank you based Whole Foods. No overnight waiting, no lines, no limits, and prices near MSRP.

FYI WF Gowanus sold out of vanilla; had about three cases of orange and tons of regular.

I’m at TH right now and the prices are stupid.

Had a pour of Coffee BW. What a sham. It’s barleywine. No coffee. Marketing a new beer as the same old beer.
