A BCBS-Parabola comparison would be pretty cool. Too bad this place started with such a black mark.

 

Bcbs is on tap at bosscat in newport too.

Damn! I didn't know that! I had originally planned to stay home to study for finals, but you've convinced me to go to Carlsbad instead.

This thread is incredibly confusing. It's like a meta-thread. I can't tell who's trolling who, and who's just ignorant. I love it.

 

I live near Bosscat (mentioned in this thread) but had never heard of it. I looked them up on Facebook and saw in addition to BCBS they had Knuckle Sandwich on tap so I thought I'd give it a try.

I met my buddy there in Sunday afternoon expecting it to be quiet. Boy was I wrong! The parking lot was full and the house music was blasting. There were 2 bouncers at each door. My buddy and I took one look at each other and decided to open up a BCBS at home.

Is this place always a club or was this just a Sunday Funday thing? I know I sound old and crumodgeony but I just didn't like the club atmosphere for craft beer bar.

 

It just opened up a couple of weeks ago. But i assume so. i also live near by and saw it on tap hunter. I was there on a midweek afternoon and it was quite and nice. I do think that they are going for that vibe on the weekends/evenings. i talked to the beer guy and he said they are looking to keep a good mix of beers on. asked him to get some sours on.

Nice to have a place near by with a good tap list .

 

Bosscat's grub looks and sounds promising. I've only had the red velvet churros (solid).

It's also in a location that doesn't have much craft beer options, so that's a definite plus.

They got some cougar's den potential. Not sure if that's a plus or minus..

 

I stopped by Bosscat today and they still have BCBS on draft. Nice place with a good menu. No bouncers at 1pm on a Tuesday.
