I'll be in the Atlanta area for Thanksgiving and I'm looking for some insight on where the area might be getting some BCBS. I'll specifically be in the northeastern part of Atlanta (Alpharetta), but will drive wherever to get some bottles. Any insight would be great. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Don't know if it's correct or not but Greens just posted on Twitter that BC Stout isn't coming to Georgia this year. Only Coffee and Barleywine and a tiny amount at that. Sucks if true.
It's true. The 14.3% version is what came to Georgia and obviously because of state laws can't go out for sale.
Like usual... Last to the cool group Georgia is. I figure I can get more trading and swapping around anyways Y'all go fight for the coffee for a single bottle, and 12 per store that had a huge goose island year
Banner few months for beer in Georgia. First, the DOR "clarifies" their law and now this. Pretty silly. I am wondering if more bcbbw and bcbcs might show up since we got shut out of bcbs. I was surprised at how little bcbbw made it into GA last year considering hop city got like 26 cases the year before (when we couldn't get bcbs either). It's just bizarre. Oh well.
Highly unlikely since coffee is a huge seller and best served in markets that support goose island more/longer. Most of the higher volume craft stores are and have reported one case of coffee and one or two cases of barleywine. Expect one of each f you are the early crowd of 12 or your choice of one or the other if you manage to get an option.
At green's this morning they had 8 cases or so of coffee but only 1 each of the barley wine and bcbs. Crazy how much coffee there was but it looks like they couldn't find enough of the 13.8% abv so just loaded them up on coffee to make it right.
they're slightly outside of the perimeter but you might want to give beverage world on peachtree industrial a call.
$12-13 for coffee/bw everywhere I've gone here in atlanta; no reference for standard bcbs. paid $10/bcbs and $22/regal at bruisin ales in asheville; $13/bcbs at Weinhaus in asheville.
