Anyone know anything about what places are getting BCBS variants? City beer has always had some before but announced they would not be releasing BCBS this year.

I am not sure, I have been following a few accounts on IG to see if they post anything and have contacted them to see what they will be getting and how much. So far its hard for anyone to have insight on this and liquor store owners have burned me in the past with "we will definitely have the x variant" and then they don't and try to drag it on longer than black Friday and eventually they just never get it and probably never did. Trying to call places can be difficult as they either can't tell you or have no idea what you are even talking about.

Just got email from total total wine for a black friday release. No mention of variants. So there's that.

That's cool, I plan to give a few calls to ones around me to see if they will crack.

I went to the local BevMo last year and they had only the reg. I think Total Wine might have had some variants but I didn't make it up there, which is a further drive. Davis Beer Shop had the reg on the floor for weeks after release.

yep, the big stores will be flooded with reg for 9.99 and will be there through at least December. its nice though to be able to drop in whenever and snag a bottle.

I still have a bottle from last year. Probably won't buy this year, but I said the same thing last year!

You sure about 9.99? Most 'big stores' around here were selling it for $12. I haven't seen it for $10 since it's first year in the new format.

Also, I'm quite excited about just the regular this year. There'll be so many random variants floating around to distract those from buying the the regular.

Around here, you could easily find the regular one for $9.99 at Safeway and Raley's grocery stores up until recently, they stayed in stock for quite a while.

Not in SF, here it was 12.99 I believe. Only found it once at that in Westlake. Always checked Safeways and never found it again, this was last year. Maybe people in the East and south part of SF bought all the BCBS.

Sorry I should have indicated out in the greater East Bay in the Walnut Creek/Pleasant Hill/Concord area.

They had bottles, not sure if they still do. Beer Basement might have bottles, too.

Downer Square Bottle Shop in SJ is said to have had Nilla, Coffee BW and Reg last Fri - I'm not in the South Bay, don't know this shop and cannot confirm, but bodes well for Nilla making it to the area after all.

Much like CBS, Beer Rev indicated no BCBS release event, but this was from the bartender and not from any official social media post, so caveat emptor. I wouldn't have rather posted here who will have it but thus far looks like allocations could be picked up by whoever moves GI volume rather than the historically reliable places like CBS.

Folks in the FoBaB thread seem to hold an unfavorable opinion on this year's releases, especially vanilla. YMMV.

I read that its too much vanilla and very sweet, not much barrel. I am a huge fan of Vanilla so I am excited to see what it actually tastes like. I have heard the Berry is very thin and the orange being awesome.

I wouldn't mind tasting them if the opportunity arises, but I gave up hunting a few years back. Aside from maybe 2013 when I was able to put together almost a case of BCBCS from Bevmo drops, it's been a pain in the ass to get the variants. Doesn't help that there have been infection issues and a packaging/format change.
