BCBS Black Friday - Chicago Suburbs

I had jury duty out in Rolling Meadows, so I swung by the Meijer there and grabbed a couple regular around 11:45. Ran into one other guy getting some at the same time, but they still had a decent amount left. Apparently they had a case of Coffee & BW, but they were already sold out.

 

I stopped in at R&F Liquors in Arlington Heights. Guy behind the counter says,
"Here is the deal, you need to buy something today and I will give you a ticket to come back tomorrow so you can purchase 1 regular and 1 BW."

Looked around a bit and then thought better of it. I have been there a few times and just don't get a good vibe there.

Instead, I drove down the road to Binnys and picked up a Mikerphone Shimmy Shimmy Ya.

 

Good call! I could somewhat understand the bundling, but requiring you to come back tomorrow? Hell no

 

Regarding the Whole Foods releases tomorrow, I noticed that all of the store's Facebook event pages for the release are exactly the same verbage (2 regular, 1 variant), even for stores that I know for sure aren't getting variants. So, take that with a grain of salt.

 

Here we go. Get the popcorn ready. "But your FB page said 2 regular and 1 variant..."

 

I'm at Meijer's St. Charles now. Service desk said it came and went. Nobody knows when it came so I'm not positive they got any in the first place.

 

What do you mean "All of the store's"?

 

I don't want to speak for him but I'm guessing he meant that all of the WF stores who have a facebook event listed for the BCBS release contain the exact same verbiage even though not all of these stores will have what is stated on the event i.e., 2 regular and 1 variant. In other words, the facebook events on the indivuidual WF stores sites should not be taken as gospel since they appear to have been copied & pasted indiscriminately. In other other words, YMMV at each WF store tomorrow.

I checked Sunday and yesterday, I didn't see anything at the service desk or at the liquor aisle.

 

Meijer Rolling Meadows had 2 per person starting today at 10am. I asked about variants and they had them this AM.

 

Meijer in NWI have no idea what I am asking them for...

WF in NWI said no variants, limit of 1, have (5) 12 packs.

 

Just stopped by WH Schaumburg. They confirmed variants.

 

Anyone getting up early? Hoping to get to my suburban store at 545 for coffee

 

Hinsdale and schaumberg confirmed coffee and prop over the phone last night.

 

I couldn't sleep so decided to go to Deerfield earlier than intended. I seem to be the only person here. Hope I'm not waiting 3 hours for reg but rolling the dice I guess.
