Passing through southern burbs Wednesday mid-day. Anyone know if there are places with regular bcbs sitting around at a reasonable price? If not, I may need to give this rare stuff a try (never had it). Sounds like Binnys or Target only? I'll give the stores closest to my route a call.

It looks like it was only 1 Target in the city. I don't know about rare anymore, but I'm certain you can find it. I've been around for several days and had no luck at regular. Have only tried a few places though since I was able to get Rare. I'd also be interested in regular if anyone knows of it hanging around.

I thought lakeview binnys had a bunch of reg and bw cases not that long ago. Well I remember seeing the post when they all got their second shipments.

    Can anyone confirm?

But as for the burbs, I haven't seen any since the second drop.

I believe this was mostly discussed in the Chicago BCS thread. It looks like Lakeview got their drop Dec. 21st or so (which is around when all the other Chicago stores were getting theirs).

I saw some stacked when I was there on Monday morning. It is sort of hard to find but if you ask I am sure they will point you there. Saw atleast a few cases left.

Wrapping up our whirlwind tour of the south and west burbs from the last 4 days here. Kept hitting up beermenu to see if I could get lucky as we were all over the place today. Found some regular '16 BCBS at $12.99 per, no limit, in Plainfield. They had 2 cases sitting on the floor as of 8:15pm. It's the 14.5%. They also had '16 Barleywine, but to get that you had to buy a "package" of 1 regular, 1 barley, 1 Halia for $49.99. I promptly passed on all that action. Ironically the place is called Cheap Cheap Liquors. Figured if there are people really hurting to get some you could hit them up if in the area. Store did have a pretty decent little selection, everything just seemed to be marked up a dollar or 3 depending on what it was. Their Beermenu was mostly accurate except for BA Velvet Merkin, which I was really hoping for, alas, all sold out. Good luck!

Is the Rare a Chicago only release?

I have a couple friends who got some in NYC on Black Friday this year at a bar that had a Goose Island tapping, but it sounded like it was few and far. At the time they didn't know GI was going to unleash millions more bottles before the end of the year

On black Friday I picked up the regular, BW and coffee. Gf bought me the prop for Christmas but now I need to find a rare.

Drive up to chicago and you'll easily get at least 2. In all seriousness, you could easily get yourself a case.

I've been to Chicago 5 times this year for beer. I'm on call at work for the next 3 weeks or I'd probably already be on my way.

If one is really freakin' desperate and/or into getting a good beating, a place in Tinley Park named Famous Express has regular and BW at $25, coffee at $40, and Prop at $100. Yes, that's per bottle in case anyone is wondering. I laughed at the dude and promptly walked out. His Beermenu app is also totally inaccurate. However, he did have cases of CW BBSA and BBQ if anyone is still looking for that and wants to pay $19.99 per 4 pack. My advice, don't patronize...

    $12.99 isn't too bad IMO.

On another note, there appears to still be the '14 Prop and Vanilla Rye floating around. I was shocked to hear it around still.

I agree. Which is why I grabbed two. Guess I didn't make that clear in my first post. After giving some away for Christmas, trading some to a friend for BN2, and remembering just how good regular really is in the face of lots of other BA stouts this past month, I suddenly realized I was a few short of my "comfort zone" I have a feeling others know what I mean.

And I know. I almost stopped at OP Binny's on my way out of town, but I figured asking my wife and disgruntled children to stop at 3 places might be viewed as a bit unreasonable :slight_frown:

Did anyone ever see or get this VR or Prop at LZ Binny's?

You gotta be kidding me lol! Curious as to what they’re pouring them in. I’ve never seen a snifter at B-Dubs.
