BCBS Black Friday in Baltimore

Hearing that md might actually see some coffee but just a little later than the regular and barleywine.

 

TW in Laurel was out of both about an hour ago. Got 2 of the barleywine at perfect pour, they are out of BCBS too.

So, in a most ridiculous but awesome move, Max's Taphouse will be serving the bottled beer by the glass. At least I can try more of them now, instead of dropping it all on like 2 bottles.

 

Did you go last year? Me and @Vogt52 should be there friday night kinda late(considering how early they are starting this), like 8ish. Was wondering if the good stuff like the coffee and barleywine will be kicked quick. I hope not!

 

I did but you have to keep in mind that this event has ballooned in scope. Last year it opened at 11 like they do everyday, but now it is 8 am. There was maybe a long of a dozen people last year, so there might be less (earlier) or more (crazy BA beers available). I want to say they late through the day last year and they should this year, especially with the drastic increase of other BA stouts available. There was only 3 on last year. Coffee wasn't on tap last year and due to the questionable nature of MD getting bottles, it might not last long.

 

Is it safe to assume the BCBS and variants are sixtels and not half barrels?

 

So bummed about md and the vanilla.

what a crushing blow! Have we confirmed coffee is a separate shipment? Hope I can get mine tomorrow... not looking optimistic with all the sad posts.

 

There was no specialty rye in MD last year either right?

 

I bought one bottle of Backyard rye at 2 places last year, Bayridge in Annapolis and Fishpaws in Arnold

 

Wow where is the barleywine?! Everywhere in Baltimore Co seems to have just the stout! Super frustrating!

 

There was very, very limited Backyard last year around Baltimore. Not sure how much, but maybe a handful of cases for the whole area last year.

 

TW Laurel got two cases of Barleywine (per the people behind the counter), it was gone in less than 24 hours, and TW is one of the largest GI accounts in the area. This likely means any other store that got Barleywine got very few bottles of BW.

 

There was some stuff scattered. We got the shaft. The Stores felt awful because people were out so early. A store manager said the GI distributes to all 50 states so rations were cut. However I can honestly say the people I met and talked to through out the day were super nice. Hopefully next year we get variants. Praying for a second drop....

 

posted in the other thread also Just picked up 2 bottles each of the stout and barleywine at fishpaws in arnold. I saw 5 cases behind the counter of the stout and only 2 bottles of the barleywine left.
