$60 for 4 is crazy. Even if you wanted to take the Manhattan coffee prices...at most a mixed 4 pack should be $45ish. So a 33% markup on top of that is just nuts. Sadly though, there is going to be someone that is probably going to pay it.

Yeah and they apparently got screwed out of Vanilla. Then were told they'd be getting Backyard, then that didn't show up.

I'm really starting to buy into the fact that the distributor did upcharge many (most) places in Manhattan on the coffee. It's ridiculous though but it is what it is.

Warning. Brooklyn Harvest Market requires case purchase of BCBS to get Vanilla. Dude on phone failed to tell me that. Am officially done on my 2014 BC hunt. Most likely my last year of this crap.

You'll say that until they come out with a maple syrup and cinnamon variant next year. They know how to market this stuff like crazy.

Vanilla going strong at city swiggers. But coffee steals the show.

Saw what surely is the comments section on this thread standing against a wall at City Swiggers waiting for the bottle raffle. Vanilla still on tap.

Not a bad event at C_SW. Folks winning raffles left and right. + taps. Not bad at all.

This might have been covered already, but does anyone know where all this backyard came from?

First off, Brooklyn Harvest Market is all out of Vanilla. Now my vent...

So I've already bought almost a case worth of BCBS there since they got it in and was told if I came in when they had Vanilla in stock I could buy it without buying any more BCBS. Anyways, I just ran over hoping to buy a bottle. As I was walking in some guy was walking out with a dolly loaded up with 10 cases of BCBS and was carrying an entire case of Vanilla Rye. Generally I don't have a problem with buying a lot of a limited beer if it's on the shelf...I've done it myself before. But this was just f*cking obnoxious. The guys working there were very apologetic and seemed generally upset that I hadn't arrived a few minutes earlier so that they could have sold me one of their remaining bottles before that guy bought all of it. But I understand that as employees of a small business they felt it was in their best interests to make the sale to that guy. I'm not upset with them...just with that asshole who is clearly going to be reselling all of that beer. And if you're on this forum guy, go f*ck yourself.

Sorry...needed to get that off my chest.

I'm just trying to computer how much that tab must have been. I'm thinking it may have been upwards of $2K with taxes. For $2K, why not just on MBC and buy a lot of really outstanding stuff? I don't think BCBS is going to sell for much and by my best guess he would need to sell them for $200 each to break even. I don't love those odds.

Anyway, sorry it didn't work out. I still have yet to get a bottle myself sadly.

They said it came out to just over $1800.

If he is selling it all...I think that's going to be tough sledding for him to come out much ahead, especially with all of the time needed most likely to move all that.

It could also be some rich hedge fund guy that plans to give away the BCBS and just keep the Vanilla. Still...$200 a beer is beyond insane.

Anyone know if Vanilla was still on tap when City Swiggers closed?
