My buddy who writes about beer got advanced bottles of both Proprietors and Vanilla Rye, so the BCBVR is most definitely bottled, labeled, and ready for distro. I'd expect a full spread (except for Proprietors) at Top Hops on BF.

Has he tried either of them yet? If so, verdict?

He hasn't. He's tried all the 12oz variants, with a exceptional report on the barleywine and a comment that the coffee, while still delicious, is exceptionally coffee-forward and thinner mouthfeel than last year's (and, to note, basically a full percentage point ABV lower).

Does anyone have any information or speculation as to the price of a 4 pack of BCBS? Someone mentioned $24 per 4 pack, but I wasn't sure if this is an inflated price post-release. And how about the price of single bottles of variants?

    Top Hops event post:

9:00am open, bottles to go sales only.

12:00pm , drafts on sale + remaining bottles

Bourbon County Brand Barleywine (12 oz) 2 bottle limit
Bourbon County Brand Coffee Stout (12 oz) 2 bottle limit
Bourbon County Brand Stout (12 oz) 1 case limit
Bourbon County Brand Vanilla Rye (22 oz) 1 bottle limit

    drafts:
    2013 BCS
    2014 BCS
    2013 Barleywine
    Night Stalker
    Sophie
    Muddy

    more, TBD

Anyone surprised by the 2 bottle limit on the Barleywine and Coffee? For the official event I thought maybe a 4 pack of each would be possible.

Think it was 2 bottle each last year too. They must be getting a ton of BCBS, if it indeed is a case limit... but somehow i doubt that but who knows...

I'd love the limits to be a 4pk of each BW & coffee, but I assume they expect a large turnout for this

Wonder if the bottle limits are for sales after 12pm...based on earlier post that there was a pre-packaged bag for sale for those in line last year?

The pre-packaged sets included 1 4-pack of BCS, 2 BCBBW, 2 BCBCS, and one voucher for a bottle of Bramble Rye.

Believe that it worked out to each 4-pack of 12oz bottles were $24 each last year (meaning, $48 for the 8 bottles).

Assuming they may/may not lift limits at a later time/date, but who knows.

    Let the hysteria begin.

Did anyone go last year? If so, what time did you get there/how was line, etc? I'd be coming in from Staten Island (visiting family from Pittsburgh).

Judging by the amount of people posting here who weren't there last year.... this is going to be terrible isn't it? Last year wasn't all that bad (cold, sure) but has the makings of a mess. Hopefully I'm wrong.

All signs point to yes. What is crazy is that a supermarket like c-town or something will likely get and be selling 4 packs of coffee a few days after, where this official event, you can only get two. Obviously this is the one place you will likely see the Vanilla. Problem is that NYC is accessible from a lot of places and there is only 1 place having this official event.

There are people like me though coming from Jersey that know this is their only shot at any bcbs varients. I never saw backyard or barleywine at any store in north jersey last year. I hear of coffee but it was sold out by the time I could get there and only found a single 4 pack of bcbs.

I was already told by 3 stores this year they have waiting lists for it or employees have already places dibs on basically all of it except bcbs. My only shot is going to this event. I promised my wife and my sister shopping in the city if they allowed me to go to this event. With the insanity and greed out there and lack of time this is the easiest option. Im sure im not the only one like this
