Bcbs eastern Iowa

I'm not for sure who started the shortage rumor but it's not true. I know first hand that all locations are getting minimal what they received last year. The Variants will be limited in Iowa as most places are lucky to get 1 case of each and 1 case of Prop will hit Iowa. I think 6 locations are getting two bottles each. Majority of these locations are auctioning these bottles.

 

I've also heard that most stores will only be getting 1 case each of variants, but also less (some stores much less) regular than last year. This is Central Iowa info though, not Eastern Iowa, so may not apply there.

 

Seems to be an awful lot of "hearing" going on, does anyone actually "know" anything?

 

Alot of the posters are incorrect. My best friend is the sales coordinator for 7G which distributes Goose Island in Iowa. I know for a fact no shortages in Iowa. The allotment is based on your Goose Island sales for the past year. If your local Hyvee or bottle shop is only getting 2 cases of Regular BCBS then they lacked overall sales for Goose Island. All locations received allotment bases off sales.

 

Would it be a safe to assume most stores would know their allotment by now? So if i start making calls they would be able to give an accurate figure?

 

Prop has always been Chicago only.

 

Yes, each store knows how much of regular their getting. The Variants are still being decided on. If stores are complaining about volume of regular then they need to step up the Goose Island sales.

 

Iowa received 1 case of Prop. All stores that are lucky to get 2 bottles were encouraged to raffle or auction.

 

Again, your statement clearly only applies to 7Gs distro area (parts of Eastern Iowa), so it may be that 7Gs footprint will see the same as last year. BUT...7G does not distro Goose Island to all of Iowa. In Central, Western and Northern Iowa, the Goose Island distributor is Doll Distributing (who happens to be the largest GI distributor in the state) and I know from sources that work on the craft division there that they are getting less than last year.

 

I agree, I have a good friend who works for the distributer in the Mason City area, and this year, they got NONE!

 

This is impossible (through legitimate distribution channels anyway). Prop is only released in Chicago. You may be referring to Coffee possibly.

 

It was actually at multiple events around DSM during Goose Island Migration Week, but I have never heard of bottles actually being distributed outside of Chicago.

 

While Prop has always been chicago only, is there any reason why that can't possibly change?

 

In the future? Possibly. For 2016? No. Even GI's FB post earlier today emphasized it.
