This is the first year I'm in the market to find some bottles. I've had it on tap a couples times in SD and randomly found a 4 pack of BCBBW in maybe March. But never tried to find on or around Black Friday. Anyone have any info? Or is everyone keeping this one close to the vest?

Last year it seemed there was the black friday release and then at least a couple more shipments later on. I got mine a couple weeks after the initial release on a restock. Saw it at a couple stores but it goes fast.

All the bevmos had at least regular bcbs last year on Black Friday. Variants were hit or miss and a lot places received them after Black Friday. Finding regular shouldn't be hard at all.

Thanks for the responses, I'll probably stat at Bevmo and go from there.

Unless you feel like it's something you must have I would stay away from bevMo. In the last year or so their prices have shot up an incredible amount especially for sought after beers. I went there a month or so ago and they were selling Enjoy by for 7.99. Costco is 5.49 or 5.29 or something like that. I don't mind paying a markup. But for BevMo to charge $2.50 more per bottle for something as easy to get as Enjoy By I have changed all my shopping habits to small liquor stores. Almost always (fuck you Freddy) good guys and at this point cheaper prices then BevMo.

Comparing any retailer to Costco is a terrible comparison, Costco never makes a margin of more than 15%, which is well below average retail rates. $7.99 is a pretty average price for Enjoy By and their pricing is within reason pretty much across the board.

In general, I entirely support the idea of shopping at smaller stores, but the logic you presented for not shopping at BevMo is seriously flawed.

Bevmo sucks now. I used to get all my beer there, now their prices are up and selection is down. Total Wine, Costco, grocery stores and liquor stores usually have better selections and prices now. Screw Bevmo especially their Mira Loma location!

BevMo has steadily increased their prices to match craft beer popularity. Of course, BevMo is also the best spot to locate out of date, improperly stored beer.

    I disagree on both fronts.

The comparison is great because we are talking about a price that is 40 percent higher. If bevmo was $6.49 I would agree with you.
Both small stores I frequent, the price is $6.99

I think the point is that Costco's pricing is generally lower than any retailer, on any item.

They are a membership-only warehouse store, much different than a liquor store (your local) or big box liquor store (Bevmo).

I think someone mentioned that you can go into Costco for alcohol even if you don't have a membership.

This is correct. "Non-member alcohol purchase" is the only phrase you need to know for CostCo. I didn't know of it and was told, went and used it to test. Easy-peasy.

Keep in mind that BevMo does do price match. Of course, it's harder to use on new releases that never make it into their competitor's system. I've done this two times with Velvet Merkin and Anni XVIII. I used Total Wine's website to show the bottle and the price. It wasn't even in stock and they still gave it to me. YMMV on whether it's in stock or not.

I believe this holds true for the pharmacy as well

I can't really remember. I know there were two things she said I disagreed with. I think a tore like BevMo should charge less for there beer than the average corner liquor store. Just an opinion. Obviously people don't necessarily share this opinion with me. Fortunately in San Diego you can buy 4 day old Grapefruit Sculpin at the local Vons so BevMo is not really a store that needs to be frequented.
