Yep. You had to be there by around 4:00am to get a Rare. I didn't make the cut. Got there about 6:00 and was offered 5 Regular, 3 BW, 1 Regal, and 1 Coffee. Regal and Coffee were gone shortly after I got my bottles. On draft was 2014 Coffee, Regal Rye, 2013 and 2015 Regular. Good time other than the cold and missing out on Rare. And yes, those 4 packs are sorely missed

I agree they could put a single purchase limit on the computer and block you at check out, but this wouldn't stop anyone from circling back in and buying again. I've done this on household products many times when there is a sale on something I use around the house. I am not 100%, but I think those limits are placed my manufacturer and not Costco though. So if that is true, Costco has no reason to put a limit. They are a bulk wholesaler and just want the product moved as fast as possible.

I would like to see the name of these liquor stores posted on the thread about "bottle shops, good, bad and the ugly".

Were there any confirmations of sightings at any Ralphs in Orange County?

Walked in to a local liquor store in South LA and as soon as I walked in I noticed the display full of BCBS asked if they had any variants and was able to get 2 Regals for 20 each.

I walked in to TW Redondo at 10am on Friday. They were out of everything except Rare and Regal. Bought a Regal and went to my lbs (which only had regular and BW left) and got a regular. I'll pick up another 1-2 regulars and call it a buying season. I refuse to pay over $60 for a bottle of beer regardless of what it can pull on the trade market.

This info might have been useful to me 3 days ago :open_mouth:. But I'm over it and shouldn't be spending that on a single bottle of beer anyways.

I was happy with how it went this year. I waited 5 minutes in line at Bevmo and 5 minutes at Churchill's, took my wife to both and ended up with 8 bottles of reg and 2 coffee. Very satisfied at the time investment and ease.

Did Santa Barbara not get any variants? I have only seen regular sitting around, and a few liquor store workers said no one in SB got variants. I don't know whether that's believable or not.

Regal's being raffled off at WF State Street tomorrow (I think you just have to have bought regular, and they'll just email the winners). I wouldn't be at all surprised if K&B got bottles, and also wouldn't be surprised if they put a $100 pricetag on Rare. Coffee was apparently quite limited in the tri-county region.

Hmm... Wish I had been in SB for black friday.

KnB said no variants, but who knows. I go in there every week for special and regular purchases - didn't find out they got VR until like March of this year - they charged me $45. I'm sure Rare will be >$100 if they have it :slight_frown:

Where's that thread for people that do this kind of shit? $30 for 1 bottle of BCBS. What a thief!

Looks like a great store from the outside.
