For real though this release is def the high water mark for sweaty palmed nerd-o spottings all year. And what I find really odd is I see lots of folks scrambling for BC and rolling with cases that aren't at any other release. I kinda always thought it was like craigslist/grey market flippers cause of all the strangers but maybe some diabetes baby somewhere is actually gonna plow through like 100 bottles of bcbs this year. Stranger things have happened.

I've said it before and I will say it again. Not gonna get sanctimonious about people who invoke free market arguments as they roll past a line of people with a loaded down handtruck or post pics of their "sick haulz" on here... but that's some dorky shit and I wouldn't drink with any of em.

So is there any reason as to why some places are selling these early? Do I now have to rush over to the nearest Whole Foods and try to snag some before people buy it all up?

Yeah, seems like many more places are releasing it early this year...

Based on the coffee used this year i would agree. Last year was horrible with the african choice. They tend to be too citrusy. I am very excited to try this year. Thanks for confirming. :-)

Very smooth out the gate, not the usual slightly harsh. Typical BCBS mouthfeel, vanilla/marshmallow finish. Not VR vanilla mind you, just slight hints. I have the 14.3% stuff, 2 known blends out there. From memory, when fresh, this is the best batch since 2011 imo.

Just came back from that Pasadena whole foods. According to the rep, they had just left the boxes on the floor on accident and people picked them up. I was able to get a bottle but he said he wasn't going to sell anymore.

WF in west la has it on the shelf. I think I saw about 10 remaining. Snagged 1. Might go back tomorrow morning if I drink this one tonight.

O'sheas in Laguna Niguel got about 16+ cases of regular, barleywine and coffee. Not much coffee as it was gone by the time I got therE @ 2pm. I went there to buy hops. They didn't have the hops I wanted so I got a bottle of bcbs and BW instead.

Retailers are told to sell it until Black Friday, some do, most don't.
You spent almost $450 on 36 16.9oz bottles, good for you.

I didn't realize there was "this" kid of formality in the craft beer world and didn't mean to create any type of unnecessary drama. @Mavidpark the sign in the back above the BCBD wrote "no limit sell sell sell" So I have no idea why they would limit you to one bottle.

A few shops have already sold it, but more is likely coming. Last year, Bevmo (Fresno and Clovis locations) and (I think) Whole Foods had it on Black Friday. All of the independent stores saw it trickle in over the following month or so. Spokeasy had it on tap that day, though. Fresno only saw regular BCBS last year, to my knowledge. Maybe we'll get some variants this year, but I wouldn't bet on it. Stores you might check: Spokeasy, Das Bierhaus, The Fort, MGA Liquors (multiple locations), Beer to the People, Fig Tree Liquor, Maroa Shell. For draft (no bottles), try BC's Pizza or Goldstein's Mortuary and Delicatessen.

Have only heard of Bay Area bevmos getting regular bcs and more should come in a week. Whole foods did get and sold out already.

if its anything like last year, distribution will come in waves, VR was hard to find on black friday, then it slowly trickled out over a few weeks. it still wasnt easy to find, but i scored 6 bottles, locally, without any being saved for me by shop owners. I was just searching Instagram for liquor store post's'

Which part of CA was this? I get the feeling Regal is going to be the same situation this year.
