I would bet Total Wine has a majority.

Pintville in Pineville got a case of Rare and Rye. Opening at 1 pm Friday, avoid the morning lines and go to a nice place to have a pint as well (they will have regular BCBS on tap).

I'm having a tough time thinking there's going to be Rare floating around. Just got off the phone with a guy in Charlotte who says they're getting three different flavors in - BCBS for sure - but he was unsure of the other ones. They have some sort of lottery just to get a bottle at the brewery. I wonder if it's other variants.

Good Bottle Co has also said they have Rare as well. That is two different places that have already announced it.

Duckworths Park Road is selling regular single bottles right now for $21, if you feel like getting gouged.
I know bars mark up bottles, but good lord!

Was going to get a bottle at Duckworth until I saw the price. Thanks for the heads up. Will go out Friday for a couple bottles. Brawley's has Founders PAM on tap which is amazing.

Duckworth's is pathetic. Gouging like that loses me as a customer.

Agreed, that is why I don't go to Southern Spirits and longer as well.

Yep, that's the last release event I will attend at Duckworth's. The draft pours were reasonably priced at $8 ($1/oz), but the bottle price was laughable at about $1.25/oz. I contemplated reporting them for gouging, but then it occurred to me that ABInBev most likely condones this behavior.

No reason to complain about Duckworths. Be thankful that there are restaurants in Charlotte who are able to get these types of beers. Restaurants have completely different pricing structures. A budweiser costs less than $0.70 retail and bars charge $3.50 all day long. Id be curious as to if any other restaurants got any and what they charged.

No reason for 100% markup on bottles. Wasn't really complaining, just outing their price gouging. Like I said, their draft pours were reasonable.
I'll be going back, hell, I have reservations at the Cellar tomorrow.
We know restaurants/bars markup bottles, but it's usually within reason and for on premise consumption.
So if other restaurants implement a 100% markup for BCBS, it's okay, that's your justification... really? Two wrongs make a right?

As an economic libertarian, I never complain about markups for discretionary items. If the price is too high relative to where the supply and demand curves meet, the product won't sell and the price will be adjusted.

As an average Joe, I think the product will sell at the inflated price. We are only talking about beer and $10, we aren't talking about TVs and computers. The lengths some will go to defend price gouging is comical.

Restaurants mark up all their booze 200-300%. Why should there be an exception to the rule. A lot of bars would make you drink on premise but ducks allows you the opportunity to take that bottle home. If you were at ducks in time yesterday, you got a bottle. However, there was some whiney dude in there making a scene about not getting a bottle. Either way, having the opportunity to buy one of these beers while sitting on a bar stool beats the shit out of waiting in the cold tomorrow.
