Alright boys, the day of the black nectar is coming upon us.
Anybody know anything about this beer? In years past I’ve only been able to find a couple bottles and I’d be very much interested in getting my hands on a couple this year.

Same here. Only lucked into a few bottles a couple times. Apparently we do not get much in the area in terms of the varients. Just be friendly to your local store owner and prepared to be up early for store openings on black Friday if you want some.

For regular BCBS it seems you can get it throughout black friday at any place that has a good standing Goose Island account like Kroger or Costco, but it goes quick. Some smaller stores will have it for days after, but its behind counter and may come with a big mark up.

Every year this is the saddest regional BCBS thread.

Holiday market said their allocation was down and “possibly” will get variants. So if they aren’t getting much I wouldn’t expect most other places to either

I live in SE Michigan but will be in Sarasota area for Black Friday. Allocation here is significantly better based on my discussion with AB rep and manager at a Total Wine Store. I forget the number ofbcasss but they said be in line by 7:30 for 8:00am store open and you should get one of every variant this year. Then get back in line and you likely gets seconds of stout for sure and maybe others.

They even had some 2017 stout on the shelf. Going to be packing some beer to bring home!

Rumor here is that our mid michigan distributor is suspending his GI account.

Crunchys, which has been a black Friday staple for years, is having a firkin of two hearted this year for black friday.

When you think things couldn't possibly have gotten any worse....

Shit gets real sad when you're not even in a densely populated area. Detroit has it good compared to most areas in the state.

I was hoping to make it to Crunchy's this year as I have basically given up on trying to get a bottle. Oh well. I did get a pour at the International Wine Food and Beer Festival in Grand Rapids this weekend.

Yeah, this is a real kick in the balls: https://crunchyseastlansing.com/event/post-turkn-firkin-friday/

To be clear, crunchys is still great and this is not a criticism of them at all.

Was out of state on Black Friday for the first time in a while last year.

In DC/Maryland, I got every variant (except the Chicago exclusives), and stores literally had no limit on Regular. Sold at MSRP too.

Just absurd much different it is here. Each store got about as much Regular as the entire city of Ann Arbor, and far more variants (of course, not hard to beat zero.)

I usually end up in SC for work around November/December and the regular is usually sitting on shelves. Hoping to have to travel there again soon, might have to ask a coworker for a favor if I can't make it in the next few weeks. The Kroger had 9 cases sitting last year...

We're like the battered spouse that keeps going back to the one who treats us wrong. At some point we gotta just let it go. At the same time Lagunitas Willetized, Epic Baptista and Quad Barrel as well as Hipster Rye and other OSA stuff hit distro this week.....you guys have fun chasing your abuser, I'll be inside drinking beers from breweries that care about this market.

I'll be in Detroit for the holiday weekend (instead of at home in Chicago). This thread has now officially depressed me.

Looks like there are going to be a few variants around town, talked to one guy that said they were getting vanilla and the midnight orange

Who cares! They are owned by Bud! There are many other great beers out there! Of course this is just my honest opinion, more for the rest of you!

Srsly though where ya guys headed Friday?

First time since 2013 I’ll be home and not in Chicago for the release so I’m totally lost on where to go.

Nowhere. In Lansing two bigger accounts have very small allotments. One bottle per and no variants. Another place that usually has it is getting none.

Last year I got 2 bottles of the base beer and that was one store saving one for me and another doing a mid day, mid week release near christmas. Each were 16ish I think. Not sure if I'll bother trying or not this year. It's hard to get people to line up for your product once they've tried it don't have FOMO anymore.
