Apologies if this belongs in the release thread but since we're a little more than a month out I thought I'd ask the question. Where should I look in OC on Black Friday for my best bet at BCBS or variants? Normally spend Thanksgiving with the family in Chicago but just moved to the area and wife isn't up for the trip this time.

Every store is going to get them. Even the small liquor shops will get a shit ton of it. As for Variants, well, just look to where ever you see a line. But Bevmo's and Total Wines get plenty of BCBS, so it's not hard to come by the base. It's that little more effort in waiting for the variants that will get you.

That's good to hear. Waiting won't be an issue. At least it won't be cold like last year at Binny's in Chicago.

Last year everyone got screwed due to the large alottement that Ramirez liquor received. So variants are usually raffled off. Bcbs was usually 1-2 bottle limit for the coffee, regular and barley wine. Should be interesting this year due to the new bottle format. Just check Instagram and you'll find out who has what.

Seems like they were able to make a lot more this year too though.

To be fair though, the folks who did the camping out or even just showing up in the early hours ended up with some variant at Ramirez.

Sorry, I am about to bombard you with questions because I am a newbie lol. How did the lottery work at Ramirez? What is considered early? Did they receive all the variants for the early birds to get a shot at?

LA is huge so you would think we get all the variants, right? Right? Hahaha.

Ramirez was the 'official' launch in the area. Sit tight and I'm sure we'll hear details about the release in the next few weeks

I was there around 11pm. Top10 in line. Lol. Yeah, I like BCBS very much, no matter who owns the company  Anyway, if I remember correctly the first guy in line got the original Rare as a gift. This time, you'll probably have to be there around 10am the day before to be first in line.

I hope it doesnt come to that but it probably will. Cant wait to spend 60 or 70 dollars on a single bottle of beer.

Pretty sure Ramirez had >50 VR. My friends and I got there around 5:30 on Friday and were on the back side of the building. Looked to be around 70-100 people in front of us and we got bottles. They opened the last case after we got ours though so couldn't be that many bottles.

Vr was in other stores too, I ended up with 7 bottles of vr, was it easy, no,but it wasnt all that hard to do either. They slowly trickled out to other stores a week or so after black friday.

If I can walk into a Total Wine/Bevmo and pick up a couple of regular and coffee...I will be a happy camper.
Although it would be nice to be able to try the Prop and Regal Rye...will probably have to trade generously for both.

Personally will not even try to deal with trying to purchase or trade for Rare.

IIRC last year TW and Bevmo only got the base BCBS. The variants got split around with Ramirez getting the most allocations. Of course this year could be different

Yeah I was going to say that I don't think Bevmo got many variants. Maybe a few got the coffee?
