One of my staff members accidentally tapped my last keg of BCBS (IDIOT!!!) so now I need to pour it soon! I was planning on saving it until our area got Sofie Paradisi but such is life. I'm leaving it off until Wednesday Night. Wednesday night is our "First Wednesday" Craft Crawl in Pacific Beach. Now I'm adding a five gallon keg of BCBS 12' to this lineup http://beeradvocate.com/events/info/61786.

    Cheers!

Is he now a former staff member?

I may have to stop by for lunch on Thursday if it survives Wednesday evening.

NO Employees shall be harmed. I actually found out after posting that the AB tech switched an empty Matilda keg with my BCBS keg! On the flip side, I'm stoked to have a reason to pour this and because they screwed up I get another keg of BCBS! Everybody wins! Also, because it's being replaced, I won't be advertising this too much so I'm sure some- if not most- will be left Thursday.

    Cheers!

I get it, PB's full of bro's and such but there's a lot more to PB than the FRI/SAT night horde of hooligans.

I've never even been to Ciro's. Fuck it, I'll check it out.

This is why I will only go for lunch or happy hour. Ciro's doesn't get the huge lines on the evenings, but you still have to park there unless you are busing in. Plus, I'm just too damned old to be comfortable in PB. Hell, I was too old 15 years ago for PB.

Hope to see you Thursday, Boog.

so just untap it and save it. it isnt like it is a pump beer and it will lose carbonation.

Not true. A keg that hasn't been tapped usually, depending on the style of beer, has two years. A keg that's been tapped has 2-3 weeks if it's then untapped.

how so? pressure is maintained, and no O2 is introduced?

Toronado a while back had a keg of 1998 alaska smoked porter on, and it was great, I assume it wasnt kegged in the last 2 years...

Again, once a keg is tapped, the shelf life speeds up exponentially because o2 has been introduced even if shortly. And again, usually a keg shelf life is two years to five years. 1998 kegged beer poured recently is quite a gamble, amazed it held up!

    Cheers!
