BCBS Pittsburgh 2014

I live very close to sharp edge crafton & GE Settlers. I am also often near GE Shaler for work. Any info on this at either place?

 

I spoke with a Goose Islamd brand rep today. He said his warehouse has it on the floor but it's not to be released until Black Friday. He said unfortunately if you didn't reserve a case through a Distro your not gonna be able to find it by the case.

 

South Hills Giant Eagle will be tapping a sixtel of BCBS and have one case of BCBBW on December 4th. The guy I talked to said the BCBS will be 10oz pours (no growler fills) and will be selling the BCBBW one bottle per person. I don't know about the prices or what time they plan to do this on the 4th.

 

I heard the same thing about December 4th at South Hills Market District. I was told that it will start at noon next Thursday. Also, that they are trying to work out the food details as it is PA law that you can only consume alcohol with food purchase at GE.

 

In the likely event I end up with cases like last year I'll be more than happy to share the wealth.

I am off on the 4th and live close to Shadyside so will be lining up early

 

How practical is it to sell on a Thursday at noon...? I appreciate everything Randy does, awesome dude, but why not at 5-6pm on a Thursday? I'm going to get shut out more or less because I'm gainfully employed and don't have a job that I can request time off with such short notice.

I obviously understand that you can never satisfy everyone, but scheduling it when a very large portion of the population will be at work is sort of unfortunate.

 

Agree that it's pretty odd to have anything on a Thursday at noon.

I called sharp edge creek house and asked if they would be having any Black Friday releases and their response was a hard no.

 

Yeah the area got screwed again. Shocker, amirite?

 

So what confirmed things are happening ?

 

House of a thousand beers has it tonight but you have to buy a draft to be able to buy a bottle. They didn't say a limit but seems like each draft you ibu you can buy another bottle. Is there anywhere that will just be selling it? Kind of ridiculous to have to gets drafts ect to be able to buy a bottle

 

I don't understand how Lancaster, PA has multiple stores with the variants, yet Pittsburgh is struggling to get regular BCBS. Unbelievable. And yes, I'm pretty butthurt right now.

 

Was able to get two bottles of regular at whole foods Wexford. But you have to be on a list that was started a couple months ago. Also have on draft. Beer express had a case that was gone within a few minutes. That's all I've seen so far.

All signs point to Goose Island not wanting to send sours and Bourbon county here. They only send the minimum possible Bourbon county. The rep lives in Philly and that is his priority.

 

Well I think Philly is a much more established market whether we like it or not. And we should all just be happy with what we get and then contact Goose Island saying that we would buy much more if we could. So we see more sours and Bourbon County stuff every year.

My guess is that Chicago gets more Maine Brewing Co. than Peoria does. Goose Island doesnt want another Pumking on their hands

 

It's kind of ridiculous. I visited my parents in Buffalo and didn't have much of an issue finding a few 4 packs. I love Buffalo, but Pittsburgh is a bigger city and certainly more beer centric.

I'll definitely sit out grabbing any in Pittsburgh, hopefully everyone can get a decent amount.

 

Same here except I did get a case of BCBS. Cracked on last night.
