Yep it's obviously pretty scarce around these parts. I would have chased it if 4 packs had been available but I'm not chasing 12oz singles and I don't want a grower fill of almost 15% ABV beer when my wife is pregnant and I don't really have any friends who are into craft.

I've tried that but people ruin it by buying 5 or 6 of 12 or 24 beer. I try to get beers to as many people as possible at least 1 or 2 bottles depending on how much is around. It will stay this way. I prefer to quietly release products but that was not possible in this situation. I got it to people that missed out on BCBS yesterday but showed up for the event. A thanks for coming. I'd love to get everyone as much of a product as they want but that just isn't possible. Any stores I manage will be a good place to look to get the beer you want in the quantity that I can responsibly get to you while still looking out for other customers. That is the best I can do.

@randylangford whatever your doing at GE shadyside keep it up. It's been my go to place to buy beer these last few months. Great selection and I always leave with something I'm interested in trying.

You're doing it the best way you can and that's all we can ask for.

Yea that's why i did not bother trying to get any bourbon county from GE this year. Had it, love it, but it's nice to let others try it for the first time. I had people on this site be quite generous to me and that is how I first got to try it. In turn i have shared any rare stuff i get with people who i know will appreciate it. Not to be all Mister Rogers on everyone, but that is how it should be

I ended up getting my fair share of BCBS, so just an observer here. But I do find it unusual, especially in our area, to hear of growlers being filled with Bourbon County. You would think 8 or 10 oz pours would get more people the opportunity to try this great beer. I was curious if there were other factors involved that led to this decision?

I agree glasses could have gotten the beer to more people and yes there were other factors. I started working on this growler concept about 7 months ago but some pieces didn't come together as they were supposed to. I could have changed it at the last minute but that would have caused confusion. So, I hope that growlers fills will get a few people together to share growlers over the weekend.

I made it to South Hills MD yesterday, relaxed atmosphere no shit show at all. I had to buy some food had some brisket with my BCBS which were limited to two 10 ounce pours. I was very happy with that, never had this stuff on draft. One bottle limit of BCBBW which was one of the best beers I had last year.

No worries everyone can do it different one place Hough's kicked theirs in a half hour Black Friday, HO1K beers in New Kens had you buy a draft to buy a bottle, you guys did the growler thing (no one is going to attempt that solo, I felt great after 2 glasses), and South Hills MD did a one bottle limit on the BCBBW with no exceptions. You had to eat to drink with a 2 draft limit, it might still be on. Let's just hope Pittsburgh sees more in the way of different variations and a better supply of what we've already gotten this year and last!

Bottom line Randy no need to apologize your managing a great beer selection and I bet the Giant Eagle growler price was the best anyone as ever gotten for a 64 ounce pour of BCBS!

After being assured for the past three weeks my distributor would have Bourbon County Stout and Barleywine for me I was informed today I will be getting nothing. Thanks Fuhrer.

I was happy I didn't get one for that reason I have one friend who is into craft but hates barrel aged stuff.

If I bought a case my wife would skin me alive. Would still probably do it though.
